depends on the gear. I can drive in 6th at 1100 rpms all day no surge at all. in 2nd and 3rd under around 1400 rpms it will get slight surge but not enough to worry about. no hard bucking. slight change in throttle or a down shift fixes it. it has a very lumpy idle but smooths out instantly with throttle under load. sounds nasty buy has great manners.

Drifting
The car has American Racing 1 7/8 Long Tubes with Cats and B&B Fusion Exhaust wide open. Thanks for the comments!!
The car drives really, really well. I get just a slight (barely noticeable) surge between 1400 and 1500 RPMS. I don't find myself having to use gear selection to account for drivability issues. I'm sure alot of that has to do with the tune but it starts with the cam selection/spec that Ryne (CMS) chose. I think this is the perfect all around set up.

UPDATE:
dyno results were good (576 HP/ 535 TQ) but the drivability SUCKS. surging is not too bad but deceleration is horrible. the car bucks real bad when I let off the accelerator no matter how fast I'm going or what RPM the car is at. Is anyone else having this problem and if not what can be done to cure this. Seriously, I might put the stock cam back in the car. I had a cam in my 05 c6 and never experienced this kind of bucking.

mine does not do that at all. truly no issues with bucking on deceleration. only at slight throttle in lower gears below 1500 rpms. have the tuner fix it. if he can't have another tuner do it. this is a very drivable cam. I drive mine in stop and go traffic as well as highway often. no issues like you describe.

Burning Brakes
Like others mentioned, the drivability shouldn't be as bad as you are describing. I have the Comp off the shelf cam, but the next level up (235/251) and it drives great. Very light surging at 1400 1500 or less but that is it. Tuning , Tuning, Tuning. Mine has heads on it and makes about 610+ on any given day. Your car should drive better after some tuning.

wow, I hope it all works out for you. All this cam talk is making my mod "itch" turn into a rash. And seeing that i'm now the slowest z06 in the area, I guess I need to step it up a bit.

put the cam in your car, like I said "the sleeper cam at Ragin Racin makes great power while retaining stock drivability". I on the other hand expect the best of both worlds (huge power and stock drivability) I think this concept is a fantasy. With all this being said I will drive my car for a while but probably end up changing the cam to a milder one.

Tune is a key factor
I am running the 243 / 259 (3 steps up) on a 114 in my 454 (cubes help a little) and it drives pretty good. The key was the tune though. I probably could have gone to the 247 / 263. The 231 / 247 should drive nice with the correct tune.
