190 mph on y rated tires
I got up to 190 three different times after averaging 110+ for many miles. Happy to report y rated Invos held up great at that speed. Do not try this yourself I am a trained expert.
At that speed everything starts humming. Sounds like a jet engine is in the wheel wells. Unfortunately I forgot my ir thermo to record tire and road surface temps and one of my gopros didn't have its memory card in it so only got 1 of the intended angles. Vid to come later

Y rated? or (Y) rated? Big difference. Is the non bracket Y tire rated to 190 mph?
Interesting comment. I have averaged 160 mph for over 100 miles in my 06 Z06 and remember the experience as quiet and comfortable. Ran Michelin (Y) rated with a nitrogen fill.

I wouldn't worry about driving my Y rated Bridgestones at spurts up to 190 MPH. Just wish I had a safe place to run my Z06 that high of speed. The events like Big Bend require a full roll cage, etc to run the Unlimited class, and the Unlimited class is the only class where you are allowed to run those speeds.

100 feels like 65, 130 feels a little fast, 160 is still quite and comfortable (depending on prevailing winds) but 175 -190 is where it starts to get loud

W is the rating for 168 MPH. Just look on your tire's sidewall for the speed rating.

Silver State allows 165 without a full cage. So did Roger Wards' events in Nv. I had a cage built for my 06 Z06 but never bothered to run that car, since I have a Ruf CTR with factory cage, fuel cell etc.. I may have that cage around somewhere. I think a 165 tech speed and a 150 target average for ninety miles might be fun at the Silver State.Think about it,read the rules. There are a bunch of forum members here that have run open road race events in Texas,Nevada or Nebraska.

At Talladega you run 25 miles or 37.5 miles and at Daytona you run from 200 to 225 miles in one day(four sessions)

I know, I've read the rules for both, but I have hit 165 at Talledaga and can do a little more at Daytona and only have to have stock seatbelts and a helmet(at Daytona, but not at Talledega). I would like to do more then 165, but I'm not willing to install a roll cage, etc. since it would most likely be a one time event for me, as I'm ready to turn 70.
