Default 1st time out BLISTERING 12.4's@124mph!!!

Well we were all waiting for that first time out with the new whip 2009 Z06 stock. Dynoed 461rwhp on a dynojet on a crisp cold morning. So we have been having some track and weather issues out this way on the east coast. Either raining, hot muggy or you have 2 tracks that have delayed openings. Then another track that opened then had leasing renewal issues and is shut down. Last night we had a great air day and one of the delayed opening tracks due to new surface to the 1/8 being put down finally opened last night. It was a MAD house!! On drag radials I dropped the tires to 18psi due to watching many cars just spin spin on the new surface. Well I figured better make it count if I run and went up to 4000rpms and the tires just spun most of first and part of 2nd gear. They were only running 1/8mi at first. I was rewarded with a BEAUTIFUL 1.856 60ft and 7.438 @99.99mph. Not a super failure probably like a 11.4-11.5 for quarter. Well the next two runs it only got worse. I aired the tires down to 16psi and came around for another failure. Final pass was #3 and the car was a rocket ship. 2.3X 60ft pedaling and then sliding pretty bad in 2nd gear and then a pretty bag wiggle to 3rd gear and hit 4th my glorious run came to its culmination at 12.4@124mph. Friends, family and bistanders were seriously impressed with my times. NOTTTTT!!!!!!!!!! LOL! Oh well better luck next time. But there ya have it folks. First time out big fail. LOL!

No one should feel bad when the surface is slippery .Here you have the zr1 king not being able to hook up his car,so,the rest of you guys now realize how important a good surface is when running.

I have never run my car down the track but I am an hour from MIR so I would like to go down and watch or even make a few passes.

I've said it many many times before. If you dont have decent track prep you arent going to be setting records. Its a big part of the BIG 3 (track prep, weather, driver)

Well, some of it was probably fun - even tho not posting money time slips, a rip snortin' wheel spinnin', tire smoke makin' jaunt is still better than the best day at the office.

I dynoed at Keiths Pittstop same place I've dynoed my last 3 corvettes. I like to keep everything the same if I can. I might throw it on Frans dyno at RPM to see what it says this coming saturday pending weather.
