Murrysville, huh? I can tell you - there is no place to air that thing out around there. Suburban hell!- Maybe out on route 22 somewhere- but not really.
Glad you kept your head- sounds like the cop needs a vacation.

HA ha - ride on, bro.

Now granted I know the road and know where the driveways are but the guy I was riding listed the Z06 as his dream car and I wanted him to experience the power. I look back and saw the dreaded lights......

I thought the officer was going to drag me out of the car and pummel me he was so mad. I had no defense, I was wrong, I admitted guilt and told him I'm old enough to know better and I accept the consequences. He came back and gave me a minimal fine and said if I would have given him one bit of lip that he would have given me 5 points and suspended my license.

That is my first Citation since I was 17 and that was 25 years ago. If I had been drinking, I never would have taken it out on the first place. Lesson learned I guess. He told me if I decide to fight it, we can watch the videotape in court and see how it turns out. Needless to say, I'll be sending in my $110.
I rolled a stop sign in my SUV at barely 1mph 300 feet from my house, I was polite, and this $hit-head cop still wrote me a 200 dollar ticket. it would have been points on my license. 3 of my neighbors walked up as this *** clown was handing me the ticket and started giving him lip, that they would be my witness in court etc. He told them to immediatley leave and mind their own business and the judge would look at the video tape in court. - all in all it was quite embarrasing and funny at the same time.

After I took the ticket, I said I was surprised he would give a local a ticket, especially someone with a 100% clean driving history. - which he confirmed he found when he looked me up. He pretty much admitted he had a quota and was told he had to vigorously enforce all laws to make it.

This rolling stop sign infraction was points on my license in addition to the fine. I got a lawyer and had it taken care of.

If you were 25 over the limit even though its 110 bucks I bet it is still points. Pay a lawyer and don't get points off your license.

Bro, one word: decaf...
I think you missed the prius site by a few letters.
If you want to worry about everything that could happen, maybe you should not leave the house in the morning, or stick to walking

Similar situation for me: rolled a stop sign same distance from my old residence and a cop at a dead end was camping the stop sign. It's the kind of subdivision intersection where you can see all roads for a good 1/8 mile each way. Was all clear except for him hiding at the dead end. He pulled me over. I was covered in saw dust from just leaving work so I figured if I was respectful and the officer saw that I was just trying to get home after a full day's work, he would cut me a break.

Nah, got a $150 ticket and he said, "Have a nice day....". Wasn't too happy about that especially never having any traffic issues prior. What's worse, the community had complained about vandals in the area and requested the service of local authorities to help curtail it. They responded to that by camping stop signs to meet their quotas.... Community went from complaining about the vandals to cops staking out stop signs for tickets.

I told him I was in the wrong easily. I come to a dead stop at every stop sign now. A week later, I came to that same stop sign and made a textbook stop and someone rear ended me because the whole community is used to rolling through that sign. No major damage and I even knew the guy.

Him: "Dude, I'm sorry, I'll pay for that to be repainted, I just live right down there."

Me: "Yeah, you're that guy with the blue Stingray....yeah I know where you live..."

Him: *Nervous silence

I didn't mean it in a bad way but it probably came off sounding vindictive.

You couldn't be this stupid to not comprehend that there is a big difference between being afraid of the unknown and not taking risks because of it and doing 70 MPH down a residential block on Memorial Day weekend and taking an innocent life. Well I guess my question is rhetorical since you pretty much proved that you are with your post.

Let me clarify by saying that it was NOT a residential road. It is a one mile rural road with two driveways (really dirt roads) that lead to two homes. I had a clear path between the driveways to let it eat. Stupid, yes, but I was conscious of the situation and on guard. There are no kids around except for mine and I knew where they were.

It doesn't matter what vehicle you have. I was going too fast.

And the passenger LOVED the Z!

Thats why nowadays when someone wants to race me i say lets do it at the track.Best$25 i could ever spend and no fear of breaking the law.The cops are everywhere we even have photo radar here in some areas, where they catch you speeding, and send you the ticket in the mail with a picture of your car.

I think it's part of his tactic. Last year I as I drove past the local police station, he pulled out behind me with his lights on. There was a car in front of me at a stop sign and we were both stopped. He went around me and pulled up beside the car in front of me. I let out an audible "haha" because the guy in front of me got nailed and I didn't. Then he proceeds to back up and I had that sinking feeling. I put my window down and he yelled at me that I was going as fast as the guy in front of me but he didn't time me so he couldn't write me up. He was screaming then too and told me to slow down.

Not sure how it works with "civilian" Police but (without radar or laser) the Army says MPs have to pace a car for a minimum of 1/4 mile before issuing a speeding ticket. I bet if you look at the appropriate law or procedure manual in that jurisdiction it defines a minimum distance.

In the situation above, unless he had a radar on, he was not going to have that ticket stick. (Even money that's why he "didn't have time") As for the screaming, well, he probably got stuck doing dishes at home.

Just to iterate, this is "Andy speaking". If anyone out there has the true picture or can reference a manual please do so.

He didn't list a speed. The charge was "Exceeding the speed limit by a great excess."

That's a pretty vague charge. I bet a good Philadelphia lawyer would shred that jurisdiction into "little sheriff pieces" *** in a minute.

I'm assuming you got nailed for something like "Unecessary Acceleration" and not for actual "speeding". If you got a speeding ticket for that "charge" I would have fought it.

*** Extra points for knowing the original use of that statement...

Some people either a cop or lawyer when people get pulled over. You did the right thing. Cop sounds like he takes the job too serious but I'm no doctor.

Oh yeah bigtime!

I buzzed a hiding NY State Trooper doing 115mph in a 55mph zone once, as soon as I realized I passed him I pulled myself over, turned off the engine, placed the keys on the dash, and had all of my paperwork ready at the window before he even stepped out of his car... Note that I was already pulled over BEFORE he even put his car in gear to "chase" me.

I was admitting my wrong-doing immediately.

All I got was a warning and I don't mess around like that anymore. This was 8 years ago, still no tickets to date. I go to the drag strip when I feel the need to be angry with the gas pedal.

Well that is what I did. I shut off the car and had my license and registration ready. Not to sound goofy but my family is prominent in the area. After he wrote the citation, he asked if I was related and I said yes and he changed his tune and said it was nice meeting me but wished it was under different circumstances.

My son said he drove past my house slowly twice yesterday and was looking over but I wasn't home. Maybe he wanted a ride!

I'd start worrying if the police officer in question has it "in" for you. Going by your house 2X in one day is not really "normal".

My quickie story: I was followed almost to my house by the local Sheriff's Deputy one night. He was going the opposite way on a state Hwy, turned around and got right behind me. I know the road and the many bars on it. Even before the Valentine went off, I kept everything legal: turn signals, speed limit, etc etc. Still "escorted" me almost to my driveway.

I was tempted to call their dispatcher and tell them if the Deputy wanted to be bored, he could just keep following me.

Just me speaking: I'd be very careful around town. Sounds like he knows who you are and is just waiting for the right moment.
