I was watching the live Barrett Jackson auction from Vegas last night and they had a 2001 Z06 vert, yes vert that was factory. They said GM did this as a pilot program and only 6 were produced 2 are here in the U.S. and 4 are in Canada. They shut the program down, get this because it cost them $48,000 to make just the convertible portion of the car. Well the car sold for $39,000.

Leaves you to wonder if "they" actually did the same thing to a C6 Z.

Yes. It's called the 427 convertible.

^ but that was an easy conversion...start with the steel-framed vert, add LS7 and wide body, etc. voila !!
