where can i get teh best price for new tires...

I looked at Tirerack.com and Discounttiredirect.com to see what their prices were. Then I asked my local dealer for a price. He sold me a set of tires(mounted, balanced and tax) for less then the on line price of Tire Rack(just for the tires).

Remember that when you buy a set of tires on line, you still have to have your local dealer mount and balance them. Your local dealer is the one that is responsible for installing the tires without damaging the wheels, not the mail order tire seller.

Using your local dealer, you are helping your neighbor make his house payment, etc.

I got my current set of NT05s through a Discount Tire outlet where a forum member had a connection. I got them, including mounting & balancing, for just under $1K about 2.5-3 years ago. At the time nobody else could touch that price. I'll definitely give them a shot at a set of Michelin PSSs when I buy them sometime next year.
