It's not that getting aftermarket heads is difficult, it's that a new buyer knows there is no longer a warrantee if there's a problem. So that's what kills the value of the car. People who buy expensive cars want their investment protected.

Lucky for me when I find the z I want. My credit union has a 5 year 100k warranty bumper to bumper that I can add on. I def will be doing that. Correct me if I'm wrong, but bumper to bumper has power train included right?

He could also get get a Z which is in warranty and simply extend the warranty if he does not want to remill heads. Small price for such a amazing car that otherwise is very solid. And to top it off, not every Z is affected.

sure, approval for repairs is never immediate, there is a 3rd party involved which usually requires a visit before a 'go' or 'not go'........this means your car sits longer in service.......in the end you hope it gets approved whereas the manufacturers warranty is usually approved on the spot or same day.

Ahh ok...Yea the warranty would be through "Mercury Insurance Group". About to research them for reviews.

Yeah that's the perfect rebuttal to my comment towards someone going with a C5 over a C6Z.

Fixing the heads is probably less expensive than a decent extended warranty that's going to be NON-EXISTENT on a C5.
