[Z06] 06 Recall

Melting Slicks
Recalls never expire so by all means get it done. It is also a safety/liability issue if your roof should fly off while driving down the road and hit someone behind your.

As everyone says, get it done!
Just so you know, Chevy replaced mine under warranty, even though there were absolutely no sign of defect. I should add that the work was flawless, cannot tell it was ever touched. Perfect parts match, perfect paint match.

Just a tip! Have the dealer order it and paint it first. That way you can check the match and paint quality before they take your's apart. Mine is black so easy match. Only takes about a 1/2 hour to install so you shouldn't need to leave your car. Btw, I thought mine was fine until the dealer told be he pulled it off with 2 fingers!
Good luck and definitely find another dealer!

I purchased My 06 in 2010 with 132 miles......I got a recall notification in November 2010. No questions asked, the Dealer replaced after painting a new roof skin. Glue issues!!

I just bought my 06 Z in January and haven't really gotten much of a chance to drive it yet (live in NY).
I am the second owner and it only has 7500 miles. Not sure if this recall was done (how can i check) but what would i be looking for to see if there is a problem?
Also i should add that when i drive the car the roof makes a very loud cracking noise on the drivers side depending on if the road surface makes the body flex. This is at slow or normal driving speed.
I leave the window open ever so slightly and the craking noise doesn't happen? Is this the what the recall is supposed to fix? or are we talking about something else?
