Got a response from GM parts direct. They are on national backorder and arent sure when they will have more. Guess im stuck with my cobalt steering wheel a little while longer.

That's the answer I got for years. So now I'm making my own with nicer stitching and thicker diameter options and a bunch of custom options! It's a lot more money but it's a lot of labor too.
I still have not received an update on my order from GM Parts Direct, but i'm afraid that's the same answer im going to get. What other options anyone knows of a nice steering wheel upgrade that is not so expensive?

Just give up. Been there, done that for several years. You might be able to find them used but when I found a few the alcantara looked really worn.

I have a 2006 C6 Z06, with the ugly stock Cobalt wheel. No controls, simple wheel. I'm interested in purchasing a stock 2013 wheel. What should i know? what parts are needed? Any recommendations?
Thanks!
So be glad you are on backorder, 2006 has a different plug than 2007-2013 so it isn't a direct fit. I did the swap on my 2011 grand sport, no problem. For the 2006 z06 I ordered a black wheel for a 2013 manual transmission car with radio controls only no bluetooth and just figured they wouldn't work but I was ok with that... the connector is different. I think it could be fixed with a change to the clockspring wiring harness but that seems like too much work.
