Default And Then There Were None

Several years ago when I first started looking for my 2006 Z06 there were well over a dozen for sale within a 200 Mile radius of the Philadelphia area. I have been watching the prices climb and inventory drop. Now there is not a single 2006 Z06 for sale.......albeit, some private sales might not be coming up on 'Cargurus.com'

Are people hoarding early C6/Z06s, driving up values?

Maybe people just realized that they're a massive performance bargain?

"What R8? Oh you mean the one in my rearview mirror?"

Not sure about hoarding, but I am keeping mine. Last big displacement motor ever, IMO, and in the best chassis developed by that time. Yes, the C7 may be an improvement, but the LS7 is gone. Keeping it!!!

Get the one that is at least 2400 miles away, too, and enjoy every minute of the drive home!!! Very satisfying.....

Dead time to sell. Might as well wait until the weather warms up and prices hold steady/rise a bit.

Is that for the whole country?
If so, that is less than two Z06s per state. Not many in anybodys book.

Out of nearly 6,300 produced for the 2006 model year - wow, a very small percentage

CF rules state you must take any survey, search or empirical data and quadruple it to even come close to realistic numbers - and even then it's probably way worse (better?) than we could possibly imagine. So that means there are going to be at least 400 `06's for sale if you start combing the other listing sites, smaller dealers and FSBO types; hell, it's probably closer to 8-900 easy.

Well sure, if you count the convertibles

Be my guess, which doesn't bode well for those looking to acquire a copy of these great once-in-a-lifetime cars. Bodes darned good for present owners though, something most Z06 owners knew all along.
