Can the Michelin PSII run-flat tires that come on the 427's, Z06 and ZR1 Corvettes be patched or plugged? If so, can they be repaired more than once? Will such a repair void the manufacturer's warrantee on these performance tires? Any insight here will be much appreciated.

I can't answer all of those questions but I know the speed rating is virtually reduced. The tire compound can handle the heat of going high speeds, but the rubber you patch the hole with won't necessarily. Maybe there are high speed / high temp patches??

Not sure about voiding the warranty, but yes, they should be able to be plugged/patched and more than once as long as the hole is not in the sidewall. As was pointed out, the speed rating will be reduced. It is recommended that you do both, plug and patch the hole, that's what I did with my tires.

I am not sure about Michelin but I know that the OEM Goodyear tires on the Z06 can be patched/plugged one time and retain their speed rating. They should not be patched/plugged more than once if you want to retain the speed rating.

I was talking to customer service about this several years ago, can't remember whether it was Goodyear or Michelin. They said a proper patch job reduces the speed rating by one letter. They can be patched 3 times, patch 4 or more times will void the warranty, the tire must be discarded...

Yes, the PS2 ZP can be patched (more of a plug/patch). Michelin has published some repair guidelines that must be followed.

I have one unlucky tire that picked up a screw the day I bought it and a piece of wire a few months later, both patched by the local Kauffman Tire without issue. They drill a hole and use a patch/plug, after some driving I can't even tell where it was repaired.

I see that you have "Run Flat" tires. These are really only good when they're flat. I'd suggest you remove them from the car, have them filled with concrete and since your so close to the Atlantic ocean you can just deposit them there. Then go out and get you a set of real tires like some Pilot Super Sports or the new Pilot sport Cup II. The performance difference between these and the run flats is huge. I really think the run flats are a bit dangerous as they like to get loose going around hard corners. Good luck on your tire search.

Have them plugged and patched. Plug first, cut down on inside and then the patch put over that. Needs to be in from the sidewall a minimum distance, though, or else it cannot be fixed. Can't remember for sure, but it seems like it needs to be around 3/4" or more in from sidewall for the fix.
