Default small rant about filling up with gas

My 06Z whenever I put gas and put the handle lever in lock and let go of it to let it fill it always shuts off. If I hold it up slightly it will work but when I relax or let go of it it shuts off like the fuel fill hole is mis-aligned.
Owned lots of cars and trucks and never had this problem. I usually drive a tank till about 1/4 left and then fill. Anyone else have this issue?

Just FYI if you fill it up on the low setting (you know how there are 3 settings you can set the pump to) it will pump more fuel into your car. when its pumping at full tilt it will aerate the fuel and not let you pump as much. if you dont believe me then look in the end of the pump and you will see a little divot to aerate the fuel. The slower it flows the less it aerates the fuel.

This problem is better than mine. I have to be very careful when filling mine since it doesn't seem to trigger the automatic shut off. Several times at various stations the tank has been filled and pumps keep pumping, dumping gas out of the filler, down inside the quarter panel and all over the ground. The first time it happened I was on the other side of the car and didn't realize the pump hadn't shut off until somebody shouted a warning. Now I fill the car with my hand on the nozzle and watch the filler pipe to make sure I don't get any more over flows. I really don't like standing in a puddle of gasoline.

Turn the nozzle upside down. Looks weird but works.

The Z06 is a breeze to fill compared to my '14 Jeep GC's "capless" system.
