While the vette can do roadtrips like this, it would be 2nd to last out of my 5 vehicles if I had to choose to take one. There are just better cars IMO to roadtrip in.

I did 2368 mile round trip from Endicott, NY to Key West, Fl with a stop on the way for a track day at Sebring. Left on Mar. 27th and got back home 12 days later. Plus additional 800 miles traveled on the Auto Train heading South. Car was comfortable, gas mileage was fantastic averaging over 25 mpg even with a track day and a fair amount of heavy city traffic along the way. On the Interstate at 70 mph it was getting 30 to 32 mpg. Effortless trip, had plenty of room for helmet, cooler, carton of water, baggage for two people, iPad, laptop, extra oil and brake fluid for the track. Heavy coats for northern weather and light rain jackets for southern weather. It all fit.

Not a Z, but I've done multiple road trips in excess of 5500 miles. The longest was over 8000 miles. Very comfortable to the point my wife prefers the Vette to the Caddy.

about 700 miles round trip, from Texarkana to Eureka Springs, Ark. for Corvette weekend. Lots of clothes in the back, a couple of pillows for the wife. Got great gas mileage, lots of beautiful scenery, twisty roads, and lots and lots of Corvettes.

When I bought my 06 Z 5 1/2 years ago, I flew out to Missouri from Mass to pick it up. I drove it home from Poplar Bluff, Mo. to Cape Cod, Mass-1,100 miles. Stopped at the Corvette Museum on the way home. I couldn't wipe the grin off my face The car was comfortable, fast and fuel efficient. I also drive it to Carlisle every year, a 1,000 mile round trip. These Z's just eat up big chunks of highway, effortlessly. I don't find the ride too rough at all. Plenty of luggage space as well. The C7 Z has very little by comparison.
It's a sports car but it's a great touring car IMO

Longest single trip so far was 6418 miles in 15 days. Out to California, up the coast to Washington, back through Yellowstone etc. A bunch of trips ranging from 1,900 to 3,500 miles. I've driven my Z06 on road trips through 39 states.
Planning on a 22 day trip for 2017, visiting Glacier National Park, then the National Parks in the Canadian Rockies, then drive up to Skagway, AK, ride the narrow gauge steam train, then a 3 day ferry ride down to Bellingham, Washington, an then back home to Springfield, MO. Ferry carries cars and has cabins, restaurant, etc. I haven't totaled up the mileage but guessing around 9,000 miles.
Z06 makes a great road car. Good gas mileage(best average of 33.0 mpg for the 450 miles from Springfield, MO to Natchez, MS), comfortable driving(longest one day drive of 879 miles from Concord, NC to Springfield, MO), large rear area for luggage(22 sq ft), etc.
But driving my C6 Z06 is nothing compared to the guys over on the C7 Z06 section. LOL. Over there they consider me a "waxer".

We have taken the Z to Williamsburg, VA., and back via Michigan and Wisconsin. About 6000 miles. No problems, except 20+ miles of stop and go traffic near Saint Louis, Mo!

1700 one way when I picked it up new - Rhode Island to Wisconsin. Then another 700 mile round trip this past October - all the way around Lake Michigan to upper northern Michigan for a deer bow hunting trip....awesome trip in the Z with the fall colors on display....and also had the car loaded to the gills with all of my hunting gear!

I bought mine a little south of Vegas and drove it back to northern CA, they cruise great out on the highway. Was a little over 8hrs and only stopped for gas. Car has heads/cam/full exhaust and coilovers.

Wow, thanks for all the great responses, I had no idea you could take the Z out for those long trips. Couple of themes developing out of these replies, the trunk space in the C6 is incredible and there are woman out there that would love to take a trip in the Vette, instead of the Caddy, got to love the American dream and the American car!!!!!

Moline, Illinois to Des Moines, to Colorado springs on the day I bought it from a fellow forum member. The Goodyear runcraps were so loud I put in ear plugs after 3 hrs or so.

I drove around 900 miles when I bought my car in New Brunswick and drove it back to Ontario.
This summer I'm thinking of driving to the west coast to Vancouver, then drive down the coast eventually meeting my better half in Reno Nevada. I'm retired so I'm going to take my time.

Looking at some of the MPG claims, I have to think some folks just look at the DIC & assume it's 100% accurate. The true way to find out is do some math at each fill up.
I'd like to drive mine to the Tail of The Dragon next year.

The longest road trip I have taken in the Z06 was in 2009. A 6-week, 13,460 mile trip. From Sacramento I drove to LA and joined the Southern California Caravan to Bowling Green Kentucky. A bunch of friends and I left Bowling Green and drove to South Dakota, then over to the Oregon Coast for a few days. When we departed I headed to Sacramento to pay bills and do laundry. Next morning I loaded up the Z06 and headed to Atlanta Georgia to spend three days at Road Atlanta seeing the Petit LeMans. Then I headed to Indiana to visit relatives, then headed south to Eureka Springs Arkansas for the Eureka Springs Corvette weekend. After that was over I headed to Denver to visit more friends, and then back to Sacramento.
I just love driving the Z06 across country. This trip was taken with my previous 427 Limited Edition Z06, which was totaled November 2009. Replaced with another 427 LE Z06.
