I would suggest you consider a good set of aftermarket wheels as the stock ones are a bit week. I have broken two stock speedlines (split spoke 2008 Z06) while running street tires. I broke seven out of ten spokes at Infineon in turn six and then noticed a second broken one following a day at Thunderhill. After speaking with Daniel at FinSpeed, it is clear that the specs for the Corvette wheels have not increased since the C4.
Were your wheels chromed or powder coated? I ask because I've never seen any OEM wheel break, crack, or fail. I know the OEM Speedline's aren't forged, but they should hold up to track conditions even with an aggressive tire compound.
