Default Huge thanks to GKZR1 for amazing cooling improvements

I recently asked GKZR1 (Greg) to upgrade my entire cooling setup. I've been struggling (as well as others) to get my IATs to a reasonable level.

I've been data logging the car and my IATs are perfect now. The problem is completely solved. He has the perfect solution and I highly recommend using Greg's setup. It's 20-30 degrees BETTER than what my prior D3 setup could do. It was almost 100 degrees the other day, and my IAT2's (with high humidity) were hovering around 111-113. That is staggering.

Stated another way, I was so frustrated with the cooling on this car after spending so much money to try and fix it, I was ready to give up and sell the car. After the latest results, no way I am selling the car now.

Thank you Greg (and also Drew) for your help with this. You never fail me.

Rear Mounted Stewart EMP Pump
5 gallon trunk mounted water cell
Full -12 Lines throughout the system.
Edelbrock heat exchanger.

Identical Setup to what is on my car. I can do pulls to 190+mph without IATs going over 140 without using any ice.

I've tried every setup (and wasted a whole lot of money & time)....but this one truly solves the IAT issue on the modded ZR1.

It has a slightly higher BTU heat transfer rating and the inlet/outlet on it are placed in position for a much better water flow path than something like the magnuson heat exchanger. Surface area is about the same but the core is a tad thicker as well.

What's the part # on the edelbrock? Direct bolt in and work in an otherwise factory cooling setup?

Greg, is it the Universal Full-Face Heat Exchanger (Dimensions 22" W x 16.5" H x 1.5" D) part number 15405?

What are your mods and boost levels? How are your coolant temps with that HX?

What does this set up cost vs. the D3?

Dumb question but do you hear water sloshing around with this set up?

I have a very similar setup and you will hear the pump and water sloshing at idle/quiet speeds but it is far from annoying.

Curious to see data from both setups. We've got cars that used to see 180 or more with cam/bolt-ons, now with our system and fully built with an iron block keeping around 125-135 on a 160mph+ pull. The added capacity of your large trunk tank plays a helping part for sure, but I can't see it being 20-30 degrees improvement

I have tons of data from HPTuners and multiple shops look at the setup to see if it was installed correctly. I checked pumps and flow at all points in the system. many times. I called you up and made sure I had things setup properly. Just could not get this setup to work ( I am not the only one BallBearing had the same exact result).

Now, sounds like you are calling out my integrity with my post. I will tell you, that is exactly what my logs are showing.

This is my experience. I know others have said they had success with your kit. And I believe them and the results you stated. I just could not get the system to work on my car and Tom could not get his to work on his car. Is it just bad luck?? I've had other people contact me and say they had the same issue so i don't know what is going on.

I recommend the GKZR1 setup to all you new ZR1 modifiers because I know it works. And it works extremely well.
