Default trade my 08 z06 for resto-mod 70 el camino SS

I had my 08 z for 4 years now, thinking maybe time for a change. Found a 70 el camino ss resto-mod with a crate 502 and 5 speed completely restored with many upgrades on suspension and brakes for 38k obo. He says would trade for a z06 if nice. I know I will miss driving my z but it keeps going down in value every year. Go ahead let me have it.

Default Dont do it!!!!

Several cars back I had a 71 Elco. I put a TPI and 700r4 into it. DId a little suspension work.
You're going to kick yourself if you make that trade.
Elco's will never bring as much on resale as a Chevelle so 38 is way steep on the half pickup hybrid.

I could understand if it were a 2017 Camaro ZL1, but as one intimately familiar with Chevelle's (used to have two '71 Chevelle's) don't trade your C6 Z06 for an El Camino. C6 Wide Bodies will always be sharp and valuable - it won't continue to go down in value unless you mod the crap out of it.

Call "911 Forum" and let every one "beat" you around the head and shoulders with "that's stupid stick" and we with Z06s will sleep better tonight!

I have own several Elcos...stay with Z06!!!! THEIR IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR Z06 POWER AND HANDLING!

You're crazy !! Never!

Ever wonder why he wants to unload his?? Even if it's been modernized, it will do nothing better than the Z.

Back to - you're crazy!

You did say " let me have it "

Would love to see pics

My old man has a 1970 ss. Has had the car since 1980 and fully restored it.

I sure miss the '70 El Camino I had until the late '80's. If I found another that simply had a good no rust body and frame, I could build it the way I wanted. But no way would I sell my Vette for one or trade for one that somebody else built.

99.9% of all cars are not investments, so get over the depreciation aspect.

My Father had a 67 ElCo SS clone with LS6 454 transplant (ls5 heads), m22 and a 12 bolt with 3:55's. Cool car, got a lot of looks, but not even on the same planet as a C6 Z. Buy a stocker 350 70's ElCo as a daily, you'll get just as much out it as the one you are looking at swapping for.

If you are looking for change, a used Viper may fit the bill better than an elky .

I've had a couple of El Camino's in the past. They can be fun and useful, but I think you'll regret doing the deal and miss your Z.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

I could think of a lot of other cars I'd rather trade my Z for than an El Camino.

Many, many decades ago, I had a 1965 El Camino(with factory installed Muncie 4 speed) and I loved the car/truck. Would like to have it back, but I wouldn't trade my 2009 Z06 for it.

Sell your Z and offer 10k. Probably what the el camino is worth. Now you will have $30k in your pocket and his car. Its the wrong year too!
