That price was 4 years ago, but yeah they were pretty stable for a while there. I wasn't going to sell my dream car. It's still a technological marvel, and considering how much I drive it, it's super competitive in ANY type of event... drag, AX, RX, rolls, I can even use it as a ute (I've had an engine and transmission in the back!)
how wrong am i? This was my experience..I would rather get my money back and fix my heads then trust a aftermarket warranty company that may or may not replace motor..

No, it wasn't your experience. It was your fear that led to your cancellation of the warranty, not knowledge or experience. If you sign a contract with an insurance company, you have to read it and be aware of the proper procedure and conditions to get an engine replaced. I had a completely stock motor top to bottom and they paid out 14,600$ to put a new short block in. They're stingy but not scammers. You can still come out ahead with the warranties and these cars are the best to do that with.

I hear what your saying...I'm glad you motor got replaced! But that was your experience...not everyone will turn out the same. I do 90% of my own work so for me I felt it was better to fix the heads...not saying an aftermarket warranty is bad sure it's great for the little stuff, like water pump and so on.

Why are you wrong? Well, choosing to get your money back and put it toward getting your heads done is a decision. However, stating "Sorry but there is no way a aftermarket warranty is going to replace a $15,000 motor." is clearly wrong.

without any personal experience I apologize.. just would have never believed a aftermarket would cover this motor other than something from gm. I also thought some warranty companies only cover parts that are actually broken or try to get used parts? I guess it all depends on who the company is...

Have we ever been told the name of this warranty company? Most warranty companies are a joke they seem to only cover stuff that never seems to fail, most not all. Walmart sells mobil 1, 5 quart jugs for 26 bucks.

Mine was Vehicle One fulfilled by Ally Auto Warranty Services (yes THAT Ally). Dennis Fichtner sold it to me, he still is around. Give him a call.

The OP's? No...and I've asked multiple times myself. At this point, it's difficult to believe Datroll has a C6Z, let alone a warranty.

Exactly. I have GMPP Major Guard, my heads aren't done, they have 69k miles on them, and I'm not worried about it breaking. But only because I have one of the top rated warranty companies in the market - Vehicle One is another top rated company. It would certainly be a PITA if it breaks, so regardless of the warranty I'm hoping to replace them within 6 months.

I had a boosted C5Z, drove through a rain puddle that was surprisingly deep, and hydrolocked my motor - I filed a claim and USAA paid for a new motor. Not LS7 expensive, but still $11k for the motor replacement with a like for like forged 402. None of it was handled by any GM associated companies... all local shops.

I think the people who make this subject forever want to actually purchase a c6 z06 for as little as possible and these threads needlessly decrease demand ..thus lowering resale pricing.

Just my opinion

Because all the people who have one, want a second one cheaper? I don't see anyone advocating addressing the valve issue that doesn't already have a z06.

I'm not a vendor on this forum. Just here as an individual and not a business entity.
