[Z06] Cold air intake worth it?

I just installed the Halltech SuperBee on my stock 2008 Z06 last night. My feedback is just seat of the pants, but it has very noticeably improved throttle response at anything over 30mph. Getting on the freeway with a pull to 80mph was also a noticeable improvement. The engine seems to rev up noticeably faster with the new setup on.
I know this isn't very scientific, but it did bring a smile to my face.
The one thing that was a bit disappointing, you have to install and glue the trim on the the engine side beehive to make it stay. For $500+, you'd think they would fit that for you. Not sure why they don't.

Burning Brakes
My performance shop in the Dallas area recommended the Calloway. I would do that and a tune, which could get you 25-30rwhp. A good combination with that would be long tube headers, high flow cats and X-pipe. But that is a pretty expensive mod and generally good if you go with a MSD Atomic intake and NW TB. First and less expensive mods would be CAI and tune for starters.

I'm going with an AFE magnum force stage-2 pro 5r cold air intake.
Firstly for its looks, secondly for its alledged hp increase.
I have heads coming from AHP that are ported and milled, the only
other mods to the car are a Borla axle back exhaust, on when I bought it
and an ATI -10% pulley, needed because mine broke up.
Hopefully I will be be able to feel a good difference, don't know what
to expect horsepower wise after a tune, but thats all I'm after for now.

Without a shroud or "heat barrier" all you are doing is sucking in warm to hot air. Doesn't matter how big your filter is. Not worth it over stock. Flush $$$$ or do it for the looks or get the one's like MTPZ06 said. Probably the top 2 you can buy that work with and or without a tune afterwards.
