It has a rainbow look while it's drying, never saw it after it dries.

I would give them a good bath with a wash mitt and soap and then get yourself some Turtle wax chrome polish very inexpensive works great. Block off a couple hours and get to work it should clean the surface very well as long as the pollutants are on the surface, if the chrome has been compromised, cracking or peeling no cleaner will correct that. At minimum weekly baths will keep them clean, just remember to always chamois everything dry.
