Default Barrett-Jackson/Vegas

A 2010 Cyber grey ZR1 sold yesterday at Barrett-Jackson for $60K, but with the buyer's fee of 10%, it was $66K to the buyer. The car had 17,250 miles on it. Sounds about right on the seller's side, but maybe a little high on the buyers with the fee. I thought it was the best looking car in the entire auction, but I may be bias.

These cars are by FAR the best bang for the $ for a TRUE 200+ mph supercar. My good friend just bought a 2009 black ZR1 (3ZR) from a luxury car dealer for only $56K with less than 12,000 miles on the clock in great condtion (what a smoking deal it stickered for $119K)! I taped B. Jackson (BJ) and just watched the 2010 Grey ZR1 get sold for $60 K, plus another $6K for the BJ commison fee. That is pretty much top dollar for the car, my friend's recent purchase (along with ebay) shows they can be had for several thousands dollars less than that, what an INCREDIBLE car for the money (still the fastest corvette of all time with its top speed of 205 mph). I look forward to adding one to my stable (GOD wiling) this time next year.

Wait, these auctions collect the fees from the buyers? That's ridiculous. And the seller still pays something as well, right?

Yep. They have it all figured out. You even pay fees just to watch. Read the first post in this thread. Then you will understand what goes down at these auctions and how much $$ they make.

Generally not a good place to buy a car to get a great price since you are competing with other buyers. Some of the classic muscle cars bring a ridiculous amount of money.

ZR1 prices are still in decline and who knows where the bottom is, but it would be nice to pick one up in a few years if they become more affordable and attractive. $65-$70K for a really nice one is still a lot of scratch.

Just for comparison I bought my 2010 CG ZR1 3ZR in July with 2500 miles on it for 64K.

I was there also. $60k for the car is a normal retail price...but the 10% fee made it too expensive. HOWEVER...there are some people who love to claim they bought a car at Barrett Jackson...good for them!!
