Default New c6 z06 ownef

Hello All, I recently got my hands on what I believe to be the best performance car available for the money ( my opinoin). Motor and drive train are bone stock. Absolutely love this car, 2009 3LZ Z06! The ONLY thing I HATE is the stock exhaust, I have been reading for countless hours of consumer/ owner input on aftermarket upgrades. I would like to stay local (17603) code. I want/ need an different exhaust system, leaning towards a corsa sport, was recommended to go with full ARH long tubes, my own choice to add CAI, of which an K& N, and corsa the rest of the way, I would really appreciate some experience with the direction I'm considering. I am NOT liking the fact of sacrificing TORQUE for HP. Any positive input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I’m doing the same thing with my newly acquired Z06. On the other C6 that I owned, I put on a Z06 H-pipe and purchased Z06 mufflers for it. I did the muffler mod on those mufflers myself and removed the pillows that are inside, it made a huge difference. If you’re able to do the work yourself, you can do the muffler mod for under $20. That car did not have headers on it. On my new car I am putting long tube headers on it and I’m going to do the muffler mod again. To me it’s the perfect combination and a whole lot cheaper than $12-$1500 for an aftermarket over the axle exhaust system. jmo

You don't specify is $$$ is a problem or how much your budget is. My suggestion would be B & B Fusions, where you can have it loud or quiet, especially if you are doing headers.

This. Love my fusions...would never get rid of such a cool feature as the mild/wild muffler valves.

This is my method of the muffler mod. By adding perforated sections to both bypass pipes and putting the glass back in, it is very quiet. Now when the switch is flipped or RPM's dictate it sounds, as Tony the Tiger says, "GREAT". In addition I made my mid pipe into an X-pipe.

I would recommend fixing the heads first or you wont have any exhaust......

What mods are you contemplating that you think may sacrifice TQ for HP? If you're just doing bolt ons...CAI, LT's, and axle back...you will not experience any of that.
