Sounds like a car that sat for a while with a blown engine.

N***ah pleez..... Nobody is talking about changing their LS7 for a flippin LS3!!! UNLESS they want a stronger short block for FI...

Nobody cares about your C5 in this section.. Hell, half of us C6Z owners are previous C5Z owners that were built and faster than stock C6Z's... What is your POINT pertaining to the OP's current problem?

Do you have anything of value to offer other than your blah blah blah babbeling?

Everyone in the z06 section is normally talking about how scared they are to have an LS7 and that the heads have valves snapping left and right, and then even if you have them done, which I have, then everyone’s talking about how they can still break occasionally.
I also have a c5z06 with an Ls3 with a cam it makes more power than the stock LS7 does. It’s a trip.

I’m not saying this dealership isn’t sleazy, they may be, they may also just be clueless...but if they give you a bit of money back I would consider myself blessed because now you have money to cam your ls3.
Just saying people talk about dumping the LS7 and getting an LS3 on the z06 threads. Maybe consider yourself 1/2 way lucky...
If it’s an ls1 or ls2 that’s a different story.

Hell no. Who wants a Z06 without the LS7?

This was precisely my thought...the dealer most likely picked up the car at auction, and wasn't aware that it had some junk yard LS3 swapped into it.

NOW, did they discover their mistake before selling it the the OP?? Anyone's guess...and we'll probably never know the truth. If they don't take that car back, and offer the OP a 100% refund...I'm going to say they knew full-well that car is damaged goods.

Well, they pulled the ad off their webpage, maybe because it sold, or maybe something else, it was still on there this AM..............

Want to say thank you so much to all that replied. Another special thank you to who contacted the dealership! what a great family got in this forum.

Conclusion: backing out of the deal. turned out the dealership purchased the car from carmax (3rd owner). i was told they were sold the car as a true Z06 with LS7 by carmax... so carmax is buying it back from them.

Hope to find 08-13 real Z06 black/black soon. wish me luck haha

PS: no need to contact the dealership anymore LOL!

I MAY be selling mine. I'm in Austin. But mine is silver. It already has heads/cam/intake/exhaust. Let me know if you're interested.

There are certainly a few in the forum running around screaming that the sky is falling, but most of us owners absolutely love our LS7. I've never had anything that even remotely compares to it.

I know this thread has already been resolved but lighten up on the guy. When you buy a computer do you open the case up to make sure it actually has what it is advertised as having? Most people have no idea how their products are made or what individual components look like. Yes you would expect someone on an enthusiast forum to know something as basic as this but any successful economy relies on basic trust between customers and retailers. People make mistakes, that doesn't mean they deserve the outcome.

Glad it worked out.

That might not even be an ls3. Could be a cheap truck motor, or something else with ls3 intake on it.

Great resolution, OP! I’m glad the dealer took care of it, everyone makes mistakes I’m glad to see it worked out for both partys. The next car you find, pay the couple hundred bucks for an inspection so you know exactly what you’re buying, especially with the past hurricanes/flood cars. GL in your search.
