could i change lifter with out remove head ? thanks

my car engine stock close to 40k miles cylinder head was send out rework at AHP about 2 year ago (i not drive car munch may be 400 mile a year ) ,as the time i install the cylinder head i forgot took lifter out and check .i would upgrade new lifter this year.

Your lifters should be fine. I wouldn't go through the hassle of changing lifters unless I was also looking to change the cam. Now, if you think you have a lifter (or cam lobe) issue, you should be able to hear it when the car is idling...sounds like a bird is chirping.

No problem. I should also not that if you have a collapsed lifter, you would most certainly hear a tapping or knocking sound. I assume you wanted to inspect the surfaces though.
