Default Let's talk rear spoilers

will probably get flamed here but does anyone make a ZR1 type spoiler that utilizes the stock Z06 Spoiler mount locations but allows you to use 3M tape to secure the outer parts of the spoiler? I just want to make sure I like the look before I drill perminate holes in my rear fascia. I dont do high speed runs or any track days. It would mainly be for looks since I am adding the front splitter and side skirts. I did search but not a whole lot of useful info. Thanks in advance.advance

What you're asking has been done many times. Just need a real high quality automotive double-sided adhesive tape.

how long have you had it installed with the tape and how has it held up? My main question is do you have to cut the outside studs off or do they unscrew? I add m wanting to do carbon fiber to match my splitter and skirts.

The C7 only uses stud were the stock holes are. The two other attachment points you screw in bolts to the spoiler. So if you don't wanna drill them you can just use double sided tape instead.

Heavy duty 3M double sided tape is extremely tacky and will hold extreme wind. The roll is red and the tape is gray. Really good stuff

Excellent! Thanks for the info. I will look to C7 Carbon when the time comes. Hopefully the carbon weave will somewhat match my RPI splitter and skirts.

Here are pics of mine from C7Carbon. I bolted mine down, no double sided tape.

I too would recommend you bolt it down. I have ran two WGF events with mine. Installed about a year ago. There are hairline gaps.. As I can see water flow underneath it when I wash it.
( in some areas). It is a very nice piece.

Agreed, it does not sit completely flush but it is a very nicely made piece. It is carbon fiber so it's not going to sit like a plastic spoiler.

I think you may be right. I was out in the garage earlier today trying to imagine a carbon spoiler. It may be out of place sitting on top like that and I was thinking black might look better.

Last thing the guy behind you wants is those 2 studs to rip out. Peace of mind bolt all 4. If you dont go over 60 then sell your car lol
