WCCH Stage 2 LS7 heads, report after 18-20K miles

WCCH stood behind their work, and discounted the guide related work, and I picked up the tab for the assembly/disassembly, valve job, seals, hot tank, shipping, etc...
My setup was a RR punisher cam, trunioned stock rockers and all supporting mods to make 608/525 sae corrected. It regularly saw 7.1-2k rpms

I did. Mine had about 7.2k miles on them, and the intake guides were all fine. The exhaust guides were "slightly" worn from what I was told.

You made the same general power I did, and comparable RPM operating environment.

Yeah, I just thought for a data perspective it may be interesting for some of us to see...given its Katech cams, the Katech spring package, and I believe they (Katech) recommends swapping in new springs at 20K for preventive measures. I'm sure their 20K recommendation is very conservative, but it would be interesting nonetheless to see how the springs would fair after that mileage.

So if you find that your heads didn't hold up worth a crap you're going to try the same setup again??? I guess if u plan on doing that every 15k that works. Seems odd to me tho!

I don't know if anyone has had a set of heads equipped with Moldstar's or any other available guide material that's been inspected after 18-20k miles of abuse. My post is just to present the measurements and the other relevant valvetrain facts, then go from there
I have a new build that is going together that I may post the details about when the project nears completion, and that build will contain aftermarket heads and matching valvetrain.

The new owner of the heads can make that decision after the facts have been presented. I posted the cam shafts I used with the heads so people can see what lifts were used, and if those lifts can cause a significant amount of side loading that accelerates the guide wear.

I really didn't post that information as I didn't think it was really relevant , but to be completely transparent, I am moving to a new setup with aftermarket heads regardless of the outcome of the inspection

For reference for those who run a different cam, here's the cam card for the K501 so you have something to compare to...

Victor, thanks for the K501 cam card. I did not have that before.
