Default Cleaning debris from in front of radiator

I hope this is a simple procedure. How do you check and clean out any debris from in front of the radiator. Any pics of this would also be very helpful.

Thanks in advance!

There is an access panel under the front bumper behind the Splitter. It is held on by approx. 6 screws.

Removing this panel you can get in there with a vacuum with a 90 deg. attachment.

This is the way I did it when I had my Z and currently with my GS..

Getting car in the air is the hard part.. Have fun, 2k

Sounds like a lot of fun. I know someone with a lift. I’ll just bring it over to his house.

Thanks,

Wow, this is sounding more fun every post. It’s not that I’m lazy, but had major back surgery a few years ago, and I just can’t do physically what my mind use to do. Before, this would have been a slam dunk! It sure sucks when your body can’t do what your mental talents can.

When I did mine I found it best to remove the radiator and powerwash it and the condenser. I had to even soak it with simple green to cut through all the muck. Mine had a ton of pollen and small grass seeds all stuck in the fins. It was pretty clogged. With that said the car still didn't overheat so even if you can just reach up through the access and get out the big stuff it'll be better than nothing.

I used AC condenser cleaner and sprayed on mine and then washed out with hose. Really cleaned it off. I ended up taking the front cover where the air filter is was able to get mine fairly easily. I have the oil cooler in radiator so it made it easier to get plastic cover off. The AC condenser was the really issue as it looked like photo above with grass and dirt etc. all over it.

Just had heads rebuilt w/ a 'baby cam' on my '08 w/ 60K.
All 3 coolers had to be removed.
Shop foreman sent pics of what rear sides of all 3 looked, totally caked w/ crap.
If I knew how to post pics, no one would believe how bad they were, I STH didn't. LOL

From front all appeared clean, I routinely checked.
HTH rears got so mucked up is a mystery as C6 is not like bottom breather C5.
Took a hour of shop time to clean these things.

Check rears of all 3 coolers.
