New Michelin PSS - vibration 75+ MPH
I know this was an issue in 2012 and have seen many posts on the board but nothing since about 2017.
I just had new MPSS installed and they start vibrating from about 75 mph up and it is a pretty significant vibration. I had a large chain in Clearwater do the install and realized after the fact they didnt have the ability to road force balance. They paid for me to take it to Dimmitt Chevy for balancing and the passenger side rear was out of spec by 25lbs or so. i hoped this would correct the issue but the problem is still there.
For reference, i did some spirited driving up to 120 or so the night before the new tires were installed, not a bit of vibration. Also the alignment is good to go and the wheels have all been removed and torqued to spec
I am thinking the tire(s) are bad but i am not sure if there is something i should be checking first. What do you experts recommend?

They are run flats. I just got off the phone with Michelin and they made it so easy. They are replacing the tires with any tire of my choosing no questions asked. I was geared up and ready for a battle. Now i just have to decide if i want to just jump over to the Sport Cup 2 tires instead of the MPSS. i plan on doing 4-6 track days this year so i might as well.

Been there with the Michelin PSS's on my C6Z. Put new tires on and went through numerous road force balances, switched tires on rims, checked rims for runout and possible deviations, etc, etc,... still had the annoying vibe at right around 75 mph.. never could get it completely dialed out. Had to put new tires on it and low and behold, it went away. I really like the Michelin PSS's.. got them on my C5Z with no issues. Sometimes you just get a bad tire. Sucks you have to jump through hoops though to prove the tire is the causative factor.

I just had a set of new MPSS ZPs in OEM stock sizes installed on my car (2010 ZR1), along with getting a new four-wheel alignment
(Pfadt Performance Street specs). So far all okay...drove several hundred miles, some at 75 mph.
Wheels are the original OEM chromed-aluminum rims.

I've been using the MPSS non runflat for several years and have never experienced such an issue, I must have purchased and used 10-12 tires over the years for my z06 and have yet to find this to be an issue. I realize that I have only used a small amount of tires since 2013. Could this be a runflat issue? could the extra metal in the tire carcass be the culprit here?

I have the Michelin Pilot Sports PS2 ZP's (run flats) and have had no vibration issues. They were made in 2017. Good tire so far - night and day from the old Goodyears.

I dropped the car off today and I decide to swap to the sport cup 2s. After a spirited test drive on one of the Clearwater bridges I am glad to report all vibrations are gone. At this point I can only determine that one of the tires had an issue that couldn’t be balanced out. It felt like it was coming from one of the rear tires and made the entire car vibrate at about 75+ as well as an audible noise you could hear.
