Z06 potential purchase - need feedback
Hello everyone!
I posted this in a different thread and the thread went south for some reason. Anyway I am in the market for a non Z06 vehicle however, I did come across this one. It's a one owner vehicle and all service records are in the car. The only thing done to it was a replaced 6th gear under warranty and an oil pan gasket replaced under warranty. Heads were not done on the car, evidently it was owned by an older gentlemen. I think we will settle somewhere around $33,500 on this.
Anything give anyone heartburn or raise red flags?

Priced a tad high, and Yellow isn't necessarily a big demand vehicle either. If you could get it for your number, I'd say that's a fine enough deal. I'd have to swap out those seat covers...the red w/yellow car is just too distracting for me, but that's an easy fix.

I agree with this. I have seen better deals out there Private Party if you are willing to consider those cars. Not awful though, if it's close by and convenient and the car you want, go for it!

I don’t know why people have to make comment on a car color VY Z06 are very nice and they do look bad *** my car is blade silver but I like and respect every other Vette colors

Because it’s 100% relevant in the used car market as far as determining value. High demand = stronger resale values. Good, bad, or indifferent...Yellow isn’t a high demand color. I’m certainly not saying anything derogatory about the OP’s color choice if your comments were directed towards me.

Most of the car magazines and ads that advertise C6 Z06 use a yellow version. Yellow is a love or hate option to be sure. When I shopped for mine there was no other color choice. It HAD to be yellow.

Same here. I bought my car because it was yellow. Wouldn’t even consider another color. To each his own. Saying a car is worth less because of color makes no sense.

The car is being listed out of South Florida. I personally don't favor Yellow in my geography, but I'd be all over it in all that sun. Get some window tints, blackout, black wheels to match the tint.
I am surprised it doesn't have a NAV system, but does have heated seats? Seems like a small increment of options, going up from 1LZ with just that option?
Disclaimer : I hate interfere with another owner's ability to sell their car, so I am always going to say Buy it with both hands! Pay extra. Start a bidding war, for God's sake.

It's still in my top choices as I am negotiated other cars. Either way I am pulling the trigger this week I have enough of them in my pocket now that I have great choices. The one thing that scares the hell out of me on this one is the heads were not done. Not sure I want to dump another $4,000 into this car or gamble and pray for the best. Grand Sport may be the safer play at this point.

Just because that Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale website if so full of eye candy, I went back and looked again. I did notice the Check Engine light is on. It's probably nothing. Even failing the turn the fuel cap exactly 3 clicks, no more, no less, can cause a check engine in these cars. As for "heads fixed", I have not had mine "done" as they say. One source which I do respect has told me, every car here that has dropped a valve has been modified, tracked, or otherwise hard-used. So you can take that for the price of free advice. I will say, if you must fix the not-broken engine, get the scheduling done in advance. Tuning and racing people are said to be very busy this time of year, and you could be waiting around for a long time to get that surgery done.
At $36k, seems like a deal to me.

thing knower
just about to roll 68k on stock heads.... just gonna pretend it doesnt exist / can't happen to me / lalallalala
but really though, I will be doing a head swap when my warranty is up this year.... more about the performance increase than concern for the valves.
I definitely plan on getting the heads checked to see how far out of spec they are... also I have done some driving events with it no issues so far, also oil report looks great!
good luck!
