spark plug question (on stock tune)
So is there any gain or benefit to using a colder plug and possibly a smaller gap on a stock tune/setup. I am sure my car still has the factory plugs (2010 with 19k miles on the car) which I am thinking should be changed out. Anyone with experience? what plugs did you use? Gap?

I've tried many different plugs and many different gaps, I highly recommend leaving your stock ones in until there's an issue with them.
I'm back to stock plugs and stock gap after all the changes and modifications, 610 to the wheels and no knock or any other issues

Me to. After I added headers, I went to a BR7EF gapped around .034. All i had was headers and intake, but I didnt like something about the car. It just felt off. I went back to the stock plugs at the stock .040 gap, and it cleared up whatever I was feeling.

your stock plugs are fine. i run B8EFS at .028 but not really needed. the shop that tunes my car likes NGK 4177 TR6 at .028
unless your running half miles and higher power going colder plugs aren't all that necessary. i like a smaller gap on boosted engines

when I had the pcar you could see 35 lbs of boost. spark were being blown out at .018 so we had to run proefi coils at 210 megajules to keep the spark in check. im at 15 lbs of boost in the zr1 not a huge amount but the .025 gap seems to work well. I also change plugs every oil change since they are cheap
