Default Loose Coil Pack Wires 2013 427 LS7

Went out for cars and coffee yesterday and my check engine light comes on and then the car starts falling on its face, significantly

reduced power. I pull over and discover the drivers side second to last coil pack wire is hanging in the air (off completely) and the last wire is barely still connected. Reattached and went on my way. What caused this if anyone knows???

Cheap retainers on the OEM wires. Very common. I ditched mine for some MSD wires years ago, they will never come loose or fall of.

I had the same issue. Twice the #2 cylinder & once on #7 (came off the plugs). Replaced ignition wires with FireCore 50, zero issues.

Sometimes air gets trapped in the connector boot and when it gets hot, it pops them off. Some have tried squeezing the boot after putting it on to get the extra air out of it, burping it, so to speak.

Are we talking about spark plug wires or the wires that connect to the primary sides of the coils?

.
Good question. I'm assuming spark plug wires because of previous issues guys were having. The primary side snaps/locks on. Me personally, I haven't heard of any issues on the primary side.

Never had the plug end come off, but the coil side would disconnect on mine until I switched to Firecore 50 wires, now no more problem.

Try "burping" the plug end like I suggested above before getting new wires, The OEM wires are very good quality.
