Default Stock cooling bricks

I just purchased a 2011 zr1 with the LPE 710 kit .the car has 8500 miles .My question is how long do the stock cooling bricks last ?Should I replace them and if so which bricks should I go with ?
Thanks mike

Mike, from what I've gathered the stock bricks' luck seems to vary a good bit and is also greatly affected by the boost levels, presence of other cooling mods, and usage. My guess in your case is that you'll likely to be fine for a long time to come if the usage is moderate. That said...

I opted for the CR Racing bricks because my boost is high (up to 23psi) and the usage is to be intense at times. They aren't cheap but they are fine. I think having the stock bricks reinforced (Kong does this as well as others) is the best bang for the buck and makes sense for most builds and budgets.

I’ve got the LPE 710 kit on my GMPP Crate LS9. The 2.6” pulley raises boost to around 12.5 pounds. (I believe bone stock is around 10.5 lbs?) Don’t know if you upgraded your heat exchanger or opted for the 160* T-Stat, which LPE includes as part of their 710 kit. I pulled the trigger on KONG bricks when I had the LPE kit installed - and I have a generous heat exchanger in my car. But I’m betting with in town driving and a few full throttle pulls from a roll, your stock bricks will hold up fine - especially if you have upped the capacity of your heat exchanger or dropped the T-Stat temps. Most of the factory brick failure is reported with the 2.35 pulley and extended track stints. For reference, the 2.35 pulley will twist around 17 lbs of boost with the stock balancer.

Thanks for the info.
