Default opinion on possible ZR1 purchase

so i’m closing the last couple of doors on cars i am interested in and this forum has always been great for perspective

both 3ZR
2010 9k mile Torch Red car that’s stock $75k
2011 19k mile Torch Red car that’s stock $70k

I am in zero rush to purchase but the miles on the 9k mile one are attractive and it’s extremely clean

looking at eBay and BAT auctions, it appears prices may be stagnating or falling.

do you all feel these are fair prices? i would rather not wait but if the feedback points to wait, wait i shall. thank you!

So it's a question of miles vs $$$. Think about it this way, if you already owned the 9k mile car, would you be willing to lease it to someone for 10k miles for $5k? In other words, are the miles worth $.50 each to you? I'd probably take the lower mile car if all else is equal but I don't think you can go wrong either way.

BTW, the car in the picture hasn't had the clutch master cylinder recall performed (the cap on the reservoir doesn't say DOT4 and the reservoir is clear instead of black is how you can tell) which is VERY important (ask me how I know.) Have it done or you'll be stranded with a dead clutch pedal stuck to the floor at some point.

that’s a good way to look at it. sometimes people put the clear reservoir on after the swap, i’ll have the probe on that. so far i have done 3 of the swaps, it’s a pain sometimes but not something i can’t do. last time it chipped my tooth which was fun lol

What model years are affected by the recall ? That looks just like my reservoir and I have a 2012.

"sometimes people put the clear reservoir on after the swap"

True, but they usually keep the new DOT 4 cap so that it's easy to tell that the update has been made....I would.

I brake for nothing, all years...2009-2013.

I had a failure on DAY 1 in both my 2012 Centennial and my JSB 2011....the 2011 CRM car had the part waiting on it when it arrived since I'd finally learned my lesson having already been stranded twice!

In my opinion I’d go after the 9k mile car, and $75k is a good price pretty much where it should be in this market.

Take the lower miles car. Change out the clutch master, do a solid isolator coupler, and reinforced/aftermarket bricks, (attack blue filter optional!) and drive it. That’s what I did. Nothing more is needed IMO.

I just picked up a 2011 with 8400 miles on it in mint condition. The car has the LPE 710 kit on it .I probably paid top dollar at $85000 but the car is really nice still smells like new not a mark in the interior. I am very happy and this is the best driving car I ever had .You will be happy no matter which you choose.
