My "C6 Z06" 5 mod list...
Looks like I will be selling my c5 and will be waiting on the new "C6 ZO6" to come out. I think that by then the aftermarket should have some of the basic bolt on parts for sale and this is the list that I have come up with being limited to 5 mods"with out going into the motor".
1.Catback system
2.Headers "long tube"
3.Air bridge/TB-coupler/K&N air filter As a "unit"
4.NX sys jetted for a 100 shot
5.Open item "what could this be"? What would you pick?
If the Z06 truly puts out 500hp I think that with the bolt on's I have listed that 600+hp to the rear wheels will be "EZ" to reach.
What do you think?
P.S. This is just a fun wishful topic to kick around :seeya

If you have to be emission tested, long tube headers are out because the cats are very close to the manifold outlets.
"Bolt-on mods" are providing ever decreasing benefits on modern engines because the OEMs are doing their homework, but N2O is a sure fire way to more power on any engine. Just be sure to install colder spark plugs if you get on the bottle a lot, and installation of N2O will void the new car warranty - at least as far as the engine is concerned.

I am sure there will be a way around the cats :reddevil :lolg: I know the gains from the bolt ons won't be much but a littel may go a long way. I think the catback system will be more for looks and sound.Nitrous will be the big power & torque adder but as we all know using the gas the motor will have to suck in as much air as possible and then get it out faster down & out the tail pipes.

What makes you think that the aftermarket will have parts ready for a car the day it comes out? You can't just speculate that the same parts that work on a base C6 will fit on the Z model.

It wasn't until the last two years or so that reasonably priced superchargers and the like became available.
There was significant discussion about cold air intakes as late as 2001 and new stuff hitting the market at that time. Almost 4 years into the product life.
