(SOLD) 2008 Z51, Victory Red
(SOLD)
Well, this is how things go in life I guess. Yesterday I was thinking about how much I love this car, today I have to prepare it for sale.
I’m very meticulous about my cars, so it’s especially difficult to let go of something I spent so much time and effort taking care of.
This is my 2008 Z51, and it has under 8000 miles on it. It's stock.
It is of course garage kept, but I do very much enjoy driving it when the weather cooperates. It has seen rain a couple of times when my beater failed me. (Gasp!) As you may tell from my user name, my original intent was to autocross this car, but I never got around to it. It was just so pristine I couldn’t bring myself to take it to the track.
It has always been lovingly washed by hand. Since it’s new, it hasn’t required much maintenance, however I did do an oil change at 1500 miles for post break-in good measure, and I have frequently refreshed the clutch fluid since this is a weak point in these cars.
I use the finest cleaning products with this vehicle. It always has a fresh coat of my favorite paint protectant, Klasse. The finest microfiber wash mitts, Meguiar’s car soap, all silicone-free rubber protectants and leather protectants. I never use a duster or instant detailer on this car because I believe that dirt and grime must be carefully washed away, not rubbed off. It is never rubbed down when drying; a blotting technique is used with large microfiber cloths to be sure any residual dirt cannot scratch the finish. The Klasse is used on the wheels as well, and I can assure you the tires and wheels have never seen curb contact. The infamous Porter Cable 7424 orbital buffer combined with Lake Country pads is the tool of choice to apply and remove products because it offers the softest touch, safer than pressure points created by fingers and hands.
Before the odometer reached 20 miles, 3M clear bra was installed to protect against rocks and debris. The entire bumper was wrapped to avoid rocks hitting that sensitive area. The rocker panels and lower section of the doors is protected. The mirrors are protected. The fenders around the wheel openings are protected, and an extra large piece protects the body just ahead of the rear wheels and right behind, a typical risk area. Of course the hood and front fenders are protected as well.
Thus, the car is essentially free from chips, scrapes, swirl marks, environmental fallout, and sand blasting – at least as far as I can tell, and I’m pretty meticulous.
For the record, no, it has never been involved in a collision.
I did find the original tires to be quite terrible, so I eventually replaced them with very well reviewed Kumho SPTs, my favorite summer performance tire, which has served me well on my S2000, Boxster S, RX-8, and now the Corvette. The tires have only 3000 miles on them.
I’m looking to get $35k.

No sir, never seen the track. My preference is to sell the car soon, because my motivation is financial. Thanks!

Definately a beautiful and well kept looking car. Hopefully my evo sells soon and I would be happy to fly out and take it off your hands. I will keep in touch.
