I can not recomend Museum Delivery enough & I have a bunch of C6 customers coming to see you this summer! Gary at the museum is a great & goes out of his way to make the museum delivery a memorable one. Your Vette is acyually on display as part of the museum the day you take delivery. You're treated to a VIP tour of both the plant & the museum. They give you a plaque & your Vette gets a museum delivery sticker. They even have web cameras set up so your friends & family at home, plus us on the forum, can watch you take delivery!

How about this for a win-win.

My girlfriend is from Kentucky, I can pick up the car at the museum then we go to visit her family. I get the car of my dreams (again :jester ) and brownie points. Plus I have a great excuse to sit out in the car while she blabs on and on with her folks.

3 of the first 5 people on the list at my dealer plan are forum members and we plan on doing a "bulk" pickup. The dealer is one of the top Corvette dealers so we should be back there very early in the delivery cycle of the new C6. Can't wait for the drive home to report back the first "long" road trip of the C6.

If I was buying a new 'vette, it would have to be NCM delivery! I had the opportunity to go to the museum a couple weeks ago. It was only 100 miles or so out of my way, so I was there! What a great place to visit. Too bad factory tours were closed. I guess they were starting work on the C6...

Does choosing the NCM delivery eliminate the destination charge?

No, you get to pay that too. What it does eliminate is a bad dealer prep.

I saw many Museum deliveries over the past few years and didn't think it was all that special. I finally did a Museum delivery with my 2003 and let me tell you, when it's your car that they are delivering, the feeling is fantastic. Everyone at the Museum makes you feel special on your day.

How much of an additional delivery delay would I incur if I select the Museum Delivery option? I'm first on my dealer's list and don't want to select this option if it means my order gets bumped because of "restricted option availability." Will the dealer know about availability at the time the order is placed?

Adding Museum Delivery to your order will not affect your production date at all. The Museum Delivery date will depend on how many other deliveries are scheduled at the time period that your car comes off the line.

Adam, can you help here? :)

There is no delay with Museum Delivery, Museum Delivery will never be a restricted option. With the first cars the dealers will tell people this because they want those cars to come into their dealership so others can see them. If they restrict the first round of C6 like they did the 50th then the dealers will for sure want these cars to show up at their dealership.

Thanks for clearing that up because I was told that there would be a two week delay to get the museum delivery which I felt I could live with . And that was told to me by a Dealer on this forum. Why the mis info .
.Anyhow I am not going with that dealer but another one on this same forum.

However they won't tell me what place I am in line for a new C6 because if for example I order yellow with a certain option and they aren't producing that color right then or shortage of that option that there would be a delay , so they have said that they guarantee in the first 90 days to be able to order it. Does that sound right? It probably is so I don't get my hopes up too high and then get :mad

That sounds like you ordered from Kerbeck. I like the way other dealers are doing it and giving you a number. If the options you want aren't being produced that week, your order gets passed over but at least you know where you stand in the order line for the next allocation week.

As far as a Museum delivery delay of 2 weeks, yes that is possible depending on how many deliveries ahead of you so what you were told by a Forum dealer is correct. Let me give you an example. When you order your car, it makes no difference if you order Museum delivery or not. It will still be produced the same day either way. What happens after that is the actual transportation of your car. If you're in a prime Corvette area, it should be delivered a few days after it leaves the plant. A remote area could take a week or more. Now the Museum delivery cars would get over to the Museum quickly. It's only 2 miles away. :) It's up to the Museum when they can schedule your delivery and here's where it could delay your car a week or so after they receive it. If a lot of people are taking a Museum delivery, you might not be able to get a delivery date for a week to 10 days. If the Museum is only doing 2 or 3 deliveries a day when your car is produced, you could get your car a few days after.

I think you should call the Museum now and ask all your questions so you will understand what's involved.

Personally, I would wait the extra days for a Museum delivery if it comes to that. The Museum delivery experience would be worth any extra wait.

Good luck. :seeya
