Vert Delayed till O%
I was just at the dealers office this weekend and was told a GM memo went out stating that the vert will be delayed until 05 none in 04.
Can anyone else confirm 1. the GM memo is real 2. the vert is delayed.
thanks :mad

Re: Vert Delayed till O% (#1onC6List)
No Administrative letters to that effect have come to us in the past week. I personally believe that it is not true based on all the information that we have been receiving. It that does occur, it would be really distroy the confidence of the consumer in GM and their marketing with respect to the Corvette. I believe that they would lose a lot of customers if that happens.

Re: Vert Delayed till O% (Karl Johanson)
thanks, obviously getting accurate information on the new vets is at a premium. I would agree that if GM did delay after all the promo, it would not be a consumer enhancement experience. The dealers on the forum have been up front with what they have and we appreciate your responses.
Bottom line actual details are still coming and no definitive dates for the vert's have been announced.
Thanks again

Working for the General and planning on purchasing a Vert, I've payed close attention to the launch of the vehicle and there is NO information as to the delay of either the Coupe or Convertible.

Re: Vert Delayed till O% (#1onC6List)
In Canada, we just got told our first coupes will be week of August 9, first convertibles, week of August 23. This was from our rep, yesterday. For what it is worth.

It's just the power top verts with problems, right?
Manual tops still roll in August.

Although if you read Ken Fichtner's newsletter:

Down near the bottom under constraints, it seems to read that both Verts with and without power tops are under constraint.

The way constraint reads, "without CM7 manual top convertible" is confusing. The answer seems to be that "without CM7" means "manual top convertible" and it is on constraint, so your statement is backwards.

No such memo to our dealership......however, convertible (power top or not) are under constraint to less than 10% of production. I can't even get an allocation til late fall. I would guess that the dealers that do get an early allocation will get greedy on pricing. We will hold to MSRP until at least spring of '05.

With a few exceptions, most dealers don't give correct information. Unfortunately, some of the time they give out bad information is purely because they want you to buy something else instead.
