Default overheating issues with procharger??

I have a c-6 with a procharger that is overheating in slow moving traffic. I was curiuous if any else is having similar problems and what they might have done to rectify the situation.

Thanks in advance.

what are your coolant temps showing in traffic vs driving?

Did you have custom tuning done? If not, a simple recalibration of your radiator fan settings should help, along with a 160F thermostat.

normal driving 220/230 but during the summer last year it was nearing the 260 mark.
I have not had a tune done yet,but that's the next step. I didn't know you could minipulate the fan with a tune though. I see cartek has a module that will control the fan as well.

I'd recommend custom tuning ASAP for any forced induction car.

My car ran at 220F stock, 185F with the fans adjusted now.

I have not seen my temp above 198, air temp at 82, I do have the 160 thermostat, and my fans have been reprogrammed.

kuds1,

See my post about Procharger cooling in the tech section. You may find the coolant changes beneficial. There is also the radiator swap if necessary. I also noticed gaps and incomplete baffling between the radiators and body structures which if corrected (will do so soon) would probably help increase airflow through the radiators, rather than allow for significant flow around them. This kind of oversight on auto cooling if applied to aircraft would damage engines and cause many airworthyness problems. Aircraft engine compartments are well baffled to make airflow through critical cooling components very effective.

Default Did you?

Did you have to modify the radiator shroud to install the Pro-Charger? You should really get it on a dyno and have it professionally tuned any time you do a upgrade. This is the only way to maximize each upgrade. It may be running lean .
