Now I really have no idea how to install nitrous so ill be having a reputable shop do the work for me, but I have some idea of how I would like it to look and was wondering if it is feasible.

I would like to run Two 2.5 lb or 5 lb behind the seats I would mount them in the hatch area just right behind the little hump perpendicular to the car (parallel to the hump) I will "T" the bottles together and run the line to the engine 50 dry shot. I will place the bottles so that I can still use the rack to stowe the top. I would also like to purge on either side of the grill, kinda like where the Halltech CAI draws in its air.

Thanks for the Help

I don't think you will be happy with just a 50 shot, it really isn't going to feel like much on a V8. If you do step up to a larger shot like 150 you will only get one good pass on a 5lb. bottle. My last nitrious car ran a 150 shot with a 10lb. bottle and I got 2 good passes and 1 half-*** passes before I had to refill. Good luck and remember nitrious is like a drug, you always want just one more hit.

Im just doing this for show, im not even planning on tracking the car. Im just wondering, with my limited knowledge about nitrous, if the setup I described would work? My main concern is connecting the two bottles together. If I can connect two 5lb bottles and it be the same as running a 10lb bottle.

For NOS to work correctly they need to be heated so I do not think you want them jammed behind the seats. Also the tanks have pressure relief values if the pressure gets too high. You would have to vent both of themwith blow tubes going outside the car else you have a gas chamber for breathing NOS will kill you.
The bottles have to be at a certain angle for NOS to correctly flow so how they are placed is important.

A 50 shot would still give you more than a 1/2 second just for fun. but 2 5lb bottles will work better than 1 10lb. less pressure drop more power from start to finish would actually be more like 75 shot just cost more for extra accessories that you will need but definitely will look cool. when you mount bottles leave enough room for 2 10 lb bottles you will eventually go to them

I didnt think they NEEDED to be heated, I know plenty of people with out bottle heaters, and couldnt I just have two blowdown tubes going right through the floor? like right in the center of the little hump or close to it in the trunk area?

Heating bottle assures constant pressure of NOS. When cold the PSI could be as example 850 PSI but heated it is more like 950 PSI and gives more repeatable runs with the same pressure.
You can vent them however you want. If you were on a NHRA track they require when bottle is exposed to driver that they must have the blowdown tubes to outside the car.

If it is just for show then that would work, however if you plan on using the nitrous it does not sound like a viable solution IMO. You have to consider bottle filling, the right bottle angle and other factors. Bottle heating is not that critical for a dry shot but if you are going to do nitrous you should do it right with a 150 wet shot with a 10lb bottle IMO

I run a 150NX wet kit and it is insane

First off a 50 shot will not do much at all. After my install I tested activation with a 50 shot and had to really pay attention to notice activation/deactivation. If you want a show system (read ricer) LOL then just get a purge kit from any of the reputable vendors, that way you do not take a chance on damaging anything and you can spray money into the air at will.

To each his own, I am not judging, but I think that if you do it right (IMO no less than a 100 wet shot) you will not be sorry. If you are paying money for the installation why not get something that you can use and enjoy? All this is strictly my opinion. Hope you get what you want and are satisfied.

I cant believe how many people refer to nitrous as "NOS". Its like a bad fast and furious remake.

NOS is a brand name, not the gases chemical.

If your setup is just for show then Buy a sweet polished bottle and a nice set of braided lines and make it look like its going somewhere.
