Default 180 shot?

I have been checking out nitrous systems for the C6 and it seems that I see alot of them which show 80-100-150-180 shot capability. I know that the C5 systems usually showed 75-100-125-150. Is the larger engine capable of taking a 180 shot? I know that MOST recommended not going larger than a 150 on the LS1, has the max recommended shot increased on the LS2 due to better fuel pump, larger engine, etc. or is a 150 still the norm for the most it can take while keeping stock and tuning? Thanks for the input

My personal limit is going to be a 150shot. I will have a good tune, race fuel, colder-plugs, and window switch.

A 150 is generally cosidered the safe max shot. Now if your willing to make sure your fuel system is up to snuff and your full tune is spot on a 200rwhp shot can be handle easily. I would, and do, run this 200 in a multi stage or progressively. I have hit the 200 on a stock block and currently am running a 180, and I run it very hard, no issues to date with approx 150 passes.
The multi stg and/or progressive hits will help break up the giant, all in one hit, torque spike. This is the real enemy of a stock long block, massive torque at low rpms. So split your shot up some and allow the stock block to live and you can still go way fast.

Naw, not true at all, look at my post. There are many doing 150/180/200 and no issues. Now with that said, once you get above 180 on a stock long block unless it's progressive or multi staged, yes you may wear your engine a little faster. But remember, if everything is right on your only running the higher cylinder pressures for about 10 sec at a time. Going fast, whether a blower, turbo or nitrous there is allways a certain amount of risk, with none really being safer than the other.

The kit that I am using is sold by Nitrous Direct and times well I do not have a set of slicks to go to the track so I have not wasted my time...here in Puerto Rico we run in the street and a week ago I ran from a rolling start with an STI that does 10.8sec @ 128mph and I was in front by half a car length up to 5th. Hope this helps.

Manuel

Can't go wrong with Nitrous Direct, but I might be a little biased? Which kit did you get, NX or CF and wet or dry?

Cool, you have almost as much nitrous as me. I run dual 15lb'ers for a total of 30lbs.
