Why doesn't PROCHARGER deal with this?? This is a major design flaw. The corrections are clever, but for the 8-10K you spend on this, you shouldn't have to resort to improvisations to deal with it.

**** like this is another good example of how half-assed the aftermarket can be.

Shame on Procharger for creating so many headaches and problems.

This is just a continuation of what crap they produced for the C5's and if we can educate all of you new C6 owners go over into the C5 FI and there are lots of threads pertaining the ATI issues. This is why A&A/ECS made there own kits to support the ATI head units, oh both of these vendors now use other head units with there kits. I have an ATI DS1C, however I have the A&A setup I modded like big bollas did on his C5. This is pretty much how the A&A/ECS kits are coming out now with the spacing to assist with the cooling issues.

The best fix if you want a ATI setup is to do the big bollas mod, or buy the newly released setups from A&A/ECS and you will not have to do that mod. When I did the install on my C5 I knew about this issue as I did the research of what all you on this board are finding out about ATI, there head units are great, the customer service and the complete layout of there kits just plain su$k.

BTW my little ole 346 puts down good numbers and has never had a cooling issue do to the mod I did and the DeWitts radiator. My reason for posting is so all those thinking of purchasing the ATI unit to be ready to fix the FMIC issue upon install and you will have a great setup, I really like mine

Great post - and I'm in So Cal, so working with A&A is easy

Damn a/c shuts off to when the car gets hot, especially sucks in traffic when its 95 and humid out/ my car has become a sweat box at times.

How did you make out with the oil temp issue? I just ordered a DeWitts radiator, which I'm hoping will help keep things a bit cooler once the Procharger is in. Vette Doctors is doing all of the work so hopefully they are up to speed on the heat related issues.

GM put too much refrigerant at the factory. Take it to your dealer and he'll remove some of the refrigerant charge. Fixes the problem.

I agree, had the same problem after the D1SC was installed, took out 1/2lb of freon and bingo, AC works perfectly.

This is the first time that I ever heard that by removing refrigerant the A/C will work properly.

Some came from the factory overcharged by .4 pounds, and it DOES make a difference.

Take the advice...There is a T.S.B. from G.M. on this... It will allow you to have A/C that works again...
