First of all, thank you Big Bollas for having the "big bollas" to experiment with tilting the intercooler and posting your results.
The Vette Doctors took your idea of notching the radiator support one step further and just cut the whole damn thing to allow an even greater tilt. They fabricated an alternate way to support the radiator, buying a little more tilt room. There's now plenty of space for the air to get to the radiator.
When I picked the car up from them this afternoon, the car had been running for about an hour and was at 194 degrees. Without turning it off, I then drove it in rush hour traffic about 14 miles with ambient temperature of 83 degrees. For the majority of the trip the car stayed in a range of 188-196 degrees. Close to the end I was stopped dead in traffic and it briefly spiked to 203, then came back down to 198. When I got home I still didn't turn it off and idling awhile it wouldn't go over 194.
Now I want to get a really hot and humid day for conclusive testing, but I gotta tell you, it's a huge improvement. Anyone with a Procharged C6 that contends with driving in hot weather should do this mod.
Yes Sir ,this is the feed back that we need to hear so that all will know that this is worth the time to do
Any pics?
No pics, I didn't really want to be breathing over them as they hacked away at my baby. I probably would have passed out watching it anyway. Then the Vette Doctors would have had to call the Human Doctors to revive me.
