Well, is stock 400 hp enough for the internals on a c6. Lots of venders are offering supercharger packages for the standard vette boasting 550+ hp without reccomending forged internals and clutch upgrades.
How much hp can a wild man safely add on the c6 without problems.
thanks.
The question of "How much can it handle" is very debatable, after all, you can break the motor while it's bone-stock. But to shoot a number based on real world trials, I'd say some where between 550-600 whp is the limit. (630-690 bhp)
But I'd say the clutch will be hurting with anything over 500 at the tires.
620rwhp (and another 100rwhp by Monday)... I've been at that rwhp for 10,000+ miles... Still running original STOCK clutch (the original over/under bet was 1000 miles, we still can't believe it). I don't race from a "Dig" (dead stop), but we do roll on's with all the fast local cars 2 nights a week...Been waiting for the clutch to slip, and in goes a Mcleod twin disc and adjustable slave...

I first started looking at s/c a c6 before any kits came out over 2 years ago, and all the "experts" said "oh you maybe able to do 5 maybe 6 psi or else it will blow up". Not only were they wrong, but they were way off! I have seen at least a dozen cars pushing 10 plus psi on a consistant basis with no problem at all. I know of one guy who has ran over 50 quarter mile runs at 650rwhp on a stock bottom end. The first breakage that I have heard of came at 745rwhp because Jayson at MTI wanted to see what the car would do. These LS2 are nothing like the LS1, they are nearly bullet proof from all the evidence I have seen. If you keep the intake charge cool, I strongly suggest a meth injection, you can easily run 650 plus with out any problem.
