I would like to see a vendor rating system in place on the Corvette Forum. It would help Vette owners make decisions on who to buy from and more importantly who to bring their car to for performance upgrades. A rating system would encourage vendors to keep customer service a HIGH PRIOITY. Vendors with good customer service reviews would be rewarded with additional business, & vendors with poor customer service reviews would know that they need to improve or risk losing business. I would think that many supporting vendors would embrace this system as a way to establish themselves as Premium Vendors. I know there are many small to medium size vendors that would stand to gain much as they have built their business on HIGH STANDARDS. In addition there are some larger vendors with high recognition but now operate with LOWER STANDARDS. A rating system like this is used by many internet sites such as NEXTAG, Ebay,et..Customers could fill in a short survey with standardized ratings such as 1-5 or "stars"(1-4,5,?). I don't want this to be so complicated as to keeping it from becomming a reality because I feel there is a real need we as consumers have to getting what we pay for under the terms in which we make the purchase/install.
And YES I just recently had a bad experience with a CF Vendor but at this time I am working with them to correct their overcharging me & poor install quality. In addition their delivery on install was 1 month after time promised. So far they are mostly in denial, but I am "compromising much" in an effort just to get my car right.
that would just cost us forum vendors. if you need info just ask and you will get the info you need but the site needs all the scrilla they can get and a rating system would cost us the lost of the not so good vendors that are still sponsors
You bring up one of the most important services that this forum could provide the constituency.
We all know this forum is a valuable tool, but as presently administered provides little actual feedback on vendors. Essentially, the vendors gather positive support from their cheerleaders, their core supporters, and blow their horns.
Unfortunately, vendor advertising pays the bills and I find it doubtful that “bad press” will survive, let alone cause a vendor to be removed. This doesn’t mean it won’t happen, just not likely.
LS1Tech.com has a section that deals with vendor complaints and that is a great start. Enough dissatisfied internet customers can severely damage a company’s ability to sweep disasters under the rug or count on “new blood” to survive.
Just my 2 cents worth…
