I am trying to decide wheather to have a boost guage installed. I do like the stock look of the interior. However, I am thinking someday I may want to know what is going on with the boost. Does anyone here run without one? What do people like about running with one?

If you've gone with a different pulley, it helps you make sure you're getting the extra boost of that pulley without slippage.
Also... seems people dig seeing that boost gauge sitting on the pillar too.
If cats fail, and they do on FI cars, you will over boost (BIG Time)... You need to know where you are with boost and fuel psi... IMHO Both VERY important
I'm not running one.....yet. I have hooked one up to verify boost levels. I can't decide on where to put one...I don't like the pillar gauges...it's too hot here to lose an A/C vent. I agree that it is important to monitor this but, I also know of quite a few supercharged cars that have never had a boost gauge on them. It's too bad we can't get a boost reading from the HUD. I have not decided if I will install one but, Mr. Big does have a very good point.
I'm going to have an autometer boost guage and air/fuel guage 2pod pillar post for sale in about a week!{great price}
If Your interested,pm me!

I would spring and buy the more espensive gauges that have a warning light/buzzer when XXXXX is exceded.

Gauges look good. What gauges are they and what did you use to fill the space behind the gauges?

Thanks. We made custom jigs for the gauges, and formed the contours with filler, then painted them... I plan on going over them again with filler and maybe wrapping them in carbon fiber... The gauges are Defi BF series. They come with (at an extra cost) a control unit that allows playback, warning settings, peak/hold, etc. You can daisy chain several together off of the unit. They are pretty pricey (probably the most expensive gauges on the market) but I had then on my WRX and couldn't settle for anything else in the C6. Google them to find out all the specs.

Tom, I love those gauges and think they are one of the best looking on the martket. The Nexus by autometer are more expensive then these though, also they are gorgeous and with a lot of features. I am deciding on which ones to get either the BF or Nexus. I'm still trying to figure out, might probably go with some cheaper ones though.

Thanks. I had no idea the AM Nexus gauges cost more... I wonder why? The Defis have the same exact features as far as I know other than the dozen colors on the fly... I went with the Defis based on my experience with them in the past, and the fact that they match the C6's factory gauges perfectly! You can't go wrong with either setup.
The AutoMeter Nexus gauges are the best I have seen and is a perfect match to C6 dash gauges. The only reason I didn't buy the Nexus is the boost only comes in 0-30 psi and not 0-15, easier for me to track boost on smaller scale. Still may replace with Nexus.
