Default A&A Corvette Performance Project..So Far...!!

Forum Members,

Thought I would share some images of the latest work I have had done at A&A Corvette Performance in Oxnard, California.

BIG THANKS TO ANDY AND CHARLIE AND THE CREW AT A&A.

THEY HAVE DONE A GREAT JOB THUS FAR AND ARE A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH!!!!!

THANKS AGAIN!!!!

This is the still "un-finished" JJSC6 project/product (thus far):

"The Motor" (Some minor stuff to do still, wiring, valve cover, aesthetics in general):

Pic 1:

Pic 2:

Dyno a few weeks ago (with Restrictor Plate Installed!!!):

Can you say "feather" the throttle???

The Interior Part A: (So Much Left To Do...Race Seats..Monitors..etc.):

Is that a Z06 Steering Wheel on a 2005 Coupe???

The Interior Part B (Stripped Out and Matting, ALOT of Wiring to do and batteries to Re-Locate, Custom Computer to Add-In, Cameras, Stereo, Etc.)

The Exterior: (Have the materials and parts.....but waiting to finish the other "stuff" first.) IN PROGRESS.........Z06 Body Panels, LG Hood, Rims/Tires, Re-Paint and Custom Art Work to Come.

Does "modding" ever stop???

Well, what is important is that it is "FUN" and that it all makes you feel like the kid in this photo in the end!!!!

It's All Really For Him Anyway!!!!

Thanks Again A&A Corvette Performance!!!!

I'm like this the whole time while I am driving it!!!!

GREAT looking ride... just FYI we had MAJOR problems with those MSD ignition modules... The gm truck modules are the way to go... just hoping you don't go through the same headaches...

Also, there are two types of truck coils...the good ones are the ones without the heat exchangers.

I actually installed those. I had them from a previous exchange of items. Wasn't an A&A "thing". They have been fine thus far. If I have an issue, I will let you know!!!

Congrats on your build!
Those Dyno numbers are BIG!
I do believe you will need to feather the throttle.

Jason-

Your car looks awesome and can only imagine what 800 rwhp feels like. My Z is at A&A now getting a bit more tuning and meth, want to get as close as possible to 700 rwhp through the stock heads and cam, we'll see.

Hey, which clutch do you have? And, are you running the stock axles?

Again, your car looks great!!!!

Pio,

Thanks!!!!

I'm using an Exedy Dual Disk Clutch. Fine so far.

Still using stock transmission and gears.

I will get an RPM stage 5 C6 Z06 transmission and 3.15 gears here sometime in the future.

Dude, not to be negative. I think wanting more is "GREAT", BUT.....

Watch out on that stock motor. I have a feeling you are asking for a forged LS7 motor. You ARE "pushing" the limits at 700 RWHP and that high CR.

It's OK, but I think you have more working against you, than for you with that high boost, CR, and heat on that LS7 and FI combo. Pump Gas and Meth will only take you so far, AND your driving range WILL be greatly reduced because of the methanol dependancy.

I finally "killed" a stock motor at a lower CR doing EXACTLY what you are doing (More and More and More...Even after I had more from a "notorious" previous thread and just kept pushing farther after the thread because I was like.....oh well...I'm going forged anyway). I AM NOT the nicest driver, but hopefully you will be OK. I have this "nagging" feeling though that a forged LS7 is coming for you sooner than later.

Give me a ring, if you think I am being too negative. No problem!!!

I am just like that car is so new for that to happen yet, and it's a "dream car" I'm sure on top of that with low milage!!!

It doesen't make sense to me for the extra power at this point in time!!!! No need to "kill" a perfectly good motor!!

I would just go ahead with the LS7X block, if you want to push that high of numbers on that Z06, it would probably be more cost effective and you would have 2 good motors then!!!!

As for me.......

Yes, of course now that I am used to the power, I want more too!!!

When does it ever stop???

I agree and told Andy that same thing, I dont want to risk blowing the LS7 just for another 20 rwhp or whatever. However he feels that with the pressure regulator he put on your car he can make around 650 with my set up and another 30 or so with meth and it will still be safe.

These guys have been "blowing" ( )motors for a few years now, hope they dont blow mine up

JJSC6,
Thanks for the input. It is still unkown how far the LS7 can be pushed, but your caution is very wise. I can see the LS7 being ok with 650 rwhp when absolutely no detonation is guaranteed. Keep the timing way back and run it rich like GM does from the factory. That should help.

Pio,

IF I were you!!!!

I would put that stock LS7 in your C5 and then just do an LS7X motor in your Z06. You win both ways on that one!!!

Just a thought!!!!!!

Good luck man!!!!

I'll let him know for you. I think he came back from the hospital from some "back stuff". Probably been slow to answer e-mail. I'll call him right now for you. Talk to them "all the time" anyway!!!

I guess it's normal.. If you need something just call in, if Andy has time he might be the one to speak to you.. He's honestly to busy for e-mail I've been waiting for dyno charts forever..

The C5 IS getting an LS7
Worst case scenario, if they blow the LS7 - I hear Andy has a killer 441 low comp that he's itching to get rid off

We'll see, like WeaponsGrade says - as long as the tune is safe - I dont think it'll blow.
