Finally got everything up and running today. The final numbers were 653rwhp/541rwtq. I am pretty happy with the numbers. I am going to call the guys at ECS tomorrow to see about getting a smaller pully. The 1500 is producing almost 2.5lbs less up till about 6k rpms. With the smaller pully, they think it will spool faster. I waited to put the heads on because I am going to put a blower cam in at the same time...hopefully in a couple weeks! Here's the graph, and thanks for all the help
I don't know what I'm waiting for?,...................hmmmmmm,........ maybe I should!!
I think first I want 3.15 gears!
Meth,yeah,.. but I don't have "that" much boost right now,but it'll still be helpfull I believe!!
John,You nut!!! {don't I know}
Enjoy the "new juice"!!
Lol!! I am a nut and my wife thinks so as well. I decided to pick her up today, and man this thing just hauls! It feels just like nitrous when it sprays(I still remember from my old camaro days). I definately need the wide body now! With the 1200 head unit I put down 595rwhp/550rwtq. With the 1500 head unit it only put down 570rwhp/515rwtq. So the overall outcome was what I was thinking at ~100rwhp. The ECS Methanol Kit is top notch. The guys that installed everything thought it was put together very well.
I would definately go with the 3.15's first. Especially since you'll be beefing up the rear end at the same time. That is what I really need to be doing first. However, they had a blower cam at the shop just sitting on the shelf that was calling my name It is a custom cam, and with the heads should put me around 800 to the wheels.
I can't keep up with everybody's mods!!
One day,one persons the "top dog",the next day,it's someone else!!!
As long as We all love Our vettes as in Our own ways,...We'll be alright!!
Here's my old graph for comparision. Also, when we looked at the boost logs, it is amazing how much faster the 1200 spooled with the current pully on it. The seperation in boost was pretty substantial, side by side.
I am trying to enjoy the torque, but it as soon as I hit 4k, in second gear, the tires roast. I can punch it at 30mph in 2nd, and as soon as I hit the 4k, it just begs for better rubber!

Crazy numbers !!
That thing must be a blast, are you still on the stock block? Assuming you are, it is amazing how well these are holding up to the big numbers. We have a bunch out there well over 600 too and all are going strong.
The 1500 seems to like a slightly smaller pulley to kick the bottom end in nicely and raise the torque up, but it top ends better for the really big hp. When you go for the 800 numbers you will appreciate it then over the 1200 and the smaller pulley brings the low end right back.
You guys do a great job with your kits! After looking at the quality, there shouldn't be another on the market! I will say one thing, when you purchase the blower kit and meth...you should include springs and push rods The springs didn't like the horsepower today and decided to let go. So she's back up there getting beefed up springs and push rods. I should have done that with the rest of the installation, they told me I was on the edge with them. Again, thanks for all the help and for producing such a top notch kit!!!!

Yeah, and you get to drive one of the best ones everyday
Well...it wasn't the springs or push rods. It has turned out to be a piston(one for sure as of now until they take it apart). From what I remember in the conversation on the phone, the ring to the piston sliced the top of it off. I was in pretty much shock, and even thought he was joking. In my never ending pursuit of going faster, I have been given an easy option of going forged. I'm not in a good mood right now. Pretty much down. Called my brother and left a message to call back. I told him what happened and he said my voice on the message sounded like someone died. Dang, this thing sounds like a "Debbie Downer Blog". I'll keep the situation up to date. I'm going over there first thing in the morning to discuss what to do.
Should I fix the piston(s), do a forged 347, or forged 402? I've got a blower cam and heads up there as we speak that were suppose to be put on at a later time.

Well, mid 600 rwhp from a stock block is kind of begging for it. I make any customer that is looking for more than 550 well aware that you are on the edge, and that if a failure occurs to look at it in a positive light because now you can make crazy power. Since we do that, they are all on the road doing fine, but if I received the call from any of them I would not be shocked, that's racing so to speak, and we made sure we are all on the same page about it.
I would definitely not just replace pistons, IMO that would be a waste of labor cost. A 402 is nice, but for street use a forged stock cube motor would make crazy power and save a fair amount of money in the crank costs if it matters to you. 99% of our builds (and 9 second cars) have stock cube engines, with a stock crank. Replace rods and pistons, cam, mild port stock heads, and up the boost and fuel system. We often make in the mid seven hundreds like that which will blow the tires away at 80 mph with an average street tire.
I'll be happy to direct you to the combo's that have worked over and over again for us with both stock cube or 402+ applications. Feel free to pm if your interested.
