Anyone blow an LSX motor with bolt ons and a 100shot wet kit?
I have been searching and it seems like the only people who have had issues is with a 150 shot or more.
Why dont you go with a dry shot? You can still damagae your engine, but I think what you are refering to is the intake backfire. Dry shots dont have fuel flowing through the intake, so there is nothing to ignite. Dry kits are also much cheaper. That, or you could also go direct Port I guess. But dont take my word for it, im just learning as well.
Dry is the only way to go on these systems, for several reasons... p.s. I'm running a 100hp dry shot on top of 700hp with great results on a STOCK bottom end... so I bet your car will do just fine...
If I can add more to this post:
Can you have your car tuned so that you can run on the motor by it self, then when you want to spray, trun it on and hit the button?

A dry kit sprays in the front of the MAF so the proper signals are sent to the computer and your fuel ratio is adjusted accordingly. The stock injectors are good to app.150 shot, but a 100 dry is super safe. You will need it tuned properly and the best set-up for what your looking for would be a remote bottle opener & bottle heater (so you can open it with a switch instead of stopping...opening the hatch/rear..etc), a wide open throttle switch (so it only sprays while the throttle is fully open to avoid build-up in manifold), and a widow switch to further assure that you don't spray before your RPM's are high enough for the motor to digest all that Nitrous/fuel/air being fed to the engine. With a set-up like that, you are guaranteed safe (as close as you can be) and can flip a switch to arm, do a few purges to insure lines are full, and hit the gas! Otherwise you are running NA with no additional stress to your drivetrain.
So a LS7 with cam and bolt ons with stock bottom end can handle a 100 shot dry or wet...
Also 100 shot doesn't mean 100HP right. I have seen guys dyno with these with like 150 more Horse. How do you know what jet size to start with for a 100 shot
Well usually a 100 shot will net you about 100 hp at the wheels. As far as which jets to use, when you buy a kit, you usually get several jets included, and a sheet that tells you which jets to use for what size shot.
If you want a wet kit, the nitrous outlet plate kit is a very clean lookin piece. Kinda stealthy, which I like. My current kit is a TNT Power Ring kit. Also great, but not stealthy at all, lol.

I like the idea of a throttle body spacer/plate.. Who makes it??
I read the previous post. I got it! thanks.. I'll let you know when I do it. 100 extra ponies is all the insurance I need and should be entertaining! I'll have before and After dyno #s.

WOW!!!!! Mr. Big very cool!!! I guess I really wont have to worry about my stock bottom end blowing up FI to "only" 525/500 with a Paxton then.
Right on... Switches with led confirmation lights sourced at autozone... purge button and rocker for bottle opener came with the kit that Dave at www.nitrousoutlet.com customized for me, guarded switch for bottle heater came from Fry's electronics.
