Default I need help!!!!!

I am seriously considering a supercharger install. I would want a 600 rwhp application, But wwhich charger should i buy. I will use the car for drag racing, and driving on the streat. I love the high pitched whistle that the charger makes, and i dont want to blow my engine, so what kind of engine work should be done on the ENGINE? By the way my current mods are, vortex cai, kooks 13/4 headers with x pipe, b&b route 66 exhaust, and a diablo sport programmer.

I would go with the ECS Novi 1500 Kit and add their Methanol Injection Kit as well. I would do a very conservative tune and you will easliy hit 600 safe rwhp.

I am in Knoxville, TN and an ECS dealer if you are looking for a complete installation I would be happy to take care of you.

The headers will work well with the blower the CAI and the diablo you can sell and recoup a bit of money.

Let me know what I can do for you

Have any of you guys done forged crankshaft, and pistons? I hear that thats the way to go if you want any life from your supercharged engine. But i am not really sure. It seams to me that that would be pritty expensive, maybe it would be cheaper to just repair the engine if something breaks.

If you do all the work yourself, then just repairing the engine would suffice. However, you never know when the motor is going to blow. I could have just fixed a piston and ring, but I didn't know when it was going to happen again. Labor on pulling the motor and re-installing isn't cheap. I am hoping the permanent fix is going to be forging the engine. If not, atleast the car will look good sitting in my garage

Im in your same boat. I dont need 600rwhp though, but I am on the fence about which kit to buy for my C6... I hear great things about all the kits and negatives about all the kits too. I am leaning towards the A&A T trim kit because from what I hear Andy makes one helluva great mounting system for the vortech and his parts are top notch quality. Not only that, but the prices are good. But, I also hear the procharger it tops too unless you want to go more boost and then you are fighting belt slip with their crappy mounting system. I dont know much, but I think the ECS kits are more expensive than the others, but those are supposedly the top of the line blowers. God I am confusing myself. And what sucks more is I have asked for numbers on several of the available kit for a stock C6 and NOBODY seems to be able to produce a dyno sheet or real world numbers. I have a few more weeks before I purchase, but so far I am at square one. I just want 525-550rwhp with just a blower kit and my catback, and no other mods.

Well i was thinking of going with the novi 2000 with meth injection, But i just have a gut fealing that the first time i crank on that 600rwhp it will throw a rod and there i will be. I cant afford to buy a supercharger and an engine, I was really wanting to go with a forged bottom end for protection but i dont know what that will cost, (probably a lot).

Well what about a pro charger, whats the difference between a procharger and a supercharger? And by the way if i spend 8 to 10 thousand dollars on a charger, it better give me 600 rwhp.

if you have a c6 they havent made a novi 2000 for it yet. its a novi1500 which can still produce 600rwhp if ya want but if you worried about longevity. just run like 8lbs and 550rwish with meth i would be suprised if ya got years outta of it.

Well i called ECS 2 or 3 days ago and they said that for the c6 i needed a novi 2000 instead of a 1500, but i gues the guy could have gotten mixed up.

Right now I have a Vortech Supercharger T-trim with an all stock C6 A6. It dyno at 460 rwhp with a very mild tune using predator hand held programmer. I am only at 5psi and unless you have slicks, any more horsepower is useless.

I was at the track Friday and running stock tires at 22psi and could not hook the car at all. I am off the line easy so I don't spin however the problem comes when the car shift from 1st to 2nd, the tire will break loose so much that I would go sideways for about 5 feet which brings me very close to the wall. This happened on every run so I gave up after 6 runs because it would be useless to keep running on stock tires.

I am going to get some stock 17' rims from C5 and then get some Mickey Thomsons Drag radials.

My point is that 460 or 550 rwhp does not mean anything unless you are on Drag radials so just buy whatever supercharger that you like.

Another point, does anyone know if the 17" rims on C5 will fit on the back of a C6? I just need something cheap to run on the track 2-3 times per year?

Well my car is a mn6 and Im also gettting custom tuned for 93 octane so I shoud see 500rwhp forsure dont you think? I have been really thinking about adding headers because they really seem to up the tq a bunch, but they are another $2K installed on top the the already $7K total I am spending on the blower. I'd rather start with the blower and add the headers later.
