Default Fan operation

Just had a procharger installed on my 06 A6. Does your cooling fans run on high at all times. It sound like vaccum cleaner, especially at a stop light. Just wondering if other have the same issue. This occurs from start up to shut down and then some for a few seconds (10-15).

I think that 192 degrees is the coolest setting the fans can be programed to come on at. Don't know who did your install/tune, but it sounds like there could have been some wiring changed to run the fan continuously. Perhaps your installer did this in an attempt to cool the car, without doing the Big Bolas mod? A ProCharged car, without the mod, will run very hot. When I first installed my ProCharger, I also put in a big custom radiator and oil cooler. Without the BB mod, the car still ran hot, in Novermer temps. I imediately did the mod, and coolant temps dropped 35 to 45 degrees. Good luck.

Did do the 160 stat, exhaust sys is stock. I was not sure it was for the benefit of the head unit to suck air in at all times. So much for stealthiness.. Will have it checked out after funfest on the way back.
Tks guys..

What is the Big Bolas mod? I have a Vortech and wondering if this mod will let me car run cooler.

The tuner has set my fan for continuous on. They said the C6 tends to run hot. So far temps have not risen above 185. It was 87F outside. Not really keene about it running continously, mainly cuz it sounds like a vaccumm cleaner when at a stop light. Can't here with the windows up but down, annoying. I would rather hear the blower noise instead. I am just worried about premature failure of the fan system. Yea I worry to much. Don't make the big bucks to just fix when it breaks. Venting tks

have also gone to a 160 stat and the tuner has put the fans on very early. Maybe I'm missing the bollas mod you are speaking of. I was thinking of the one that reroutes the intercooler plumbing which we are doing now. I'm not sure how this could affect the temp of your water that much if that is where you are coming from. Please let me know because I am still seeing close to stock temps. thanks

fyi...my temps are staying near 183 for cooloant and 185 oil, which I recall is lower than stock. It was dynoed 471 rwhp 445 tq. Lower than most I have seen, but I suspect there are some diff's with dyno machines also. I hv an A6 also.
