I am doing another round of small mods to my car and was wondering if you guys thought a boost a pump would be needed or not.
My car is a 2005 A4 with the STS rear mount system on 5 pounds of boost. I'm planning on putting in the Ligenfelter gt7 cam and a boost controller to raise up to 7 pounds with the possible 9 every once in a while. Is it safe to stick with the stock pump at 7 pounds? Also what about at 9?
My experience on a C6 on 6 psi is you can run the stock fuel pump.
HOWEVER, the injector duty cycle goes up to about 85 to 90%
Running 7 psi or greater will overdrive the duty cycle of the injectors.
In other words the injectors cannot, with the stock pump, keep up with the demand.
With the boost a pump, the voltage and therefore the fuel pressure/flow is increased and the injector duty cycle will be decreased.
9 psi? I would install larger injectors and boost a pump
Personally I wouldn't do any form of forced induction on an LS2 Corvette without at least a boost a pump. We have seen too many irregularities in the fuel systems in these cars. I view a boost a pump as cheap insurance. Bob
i forgot to mention that i already put in the 60 pound injectors. but it looks like the boost a pump should be added for the safety but not necessary.
Correct, do you have a fuel pressure gauge in the car? A boost gauge and a fuel pressure gauge can be very useful, and the fuel pressure gauge can alert you to potential problems with the fuel pump before they happen. Bob
no, i do not have a fuel gauge. For he boost gauge I was just going to use the boost controller to read how much boost i was creating. i think i'm going to shell out the extra little bit of cash for the safety.

when looking on the Kenne Bell site I also noticed the boost a spark and saw that there was a problem with spark on the mustangs. Is that a problem that can occur for the corvette?
Even though i am running a c5 , i also run a Novi2k & A bap ,i Also monitor everything Very closely ,As i was Running the car on the Dyno ,The car ran out of fuel @ 5k,The Pressure dropped from 58 to 40ish , & aLL I Am running is a bAP & 60lbs injctors,I am having to install an aftermarket intank pump ,i Would Highly reccomend a Bap & an intank pump ,better to have more than enough than not enough ,the boost Gauge & A full sweep electric fuel pressure gauge is money very well spent
